Madonna Le (Donna)Wurth, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away peacefully, in the arms of her husband, on October 17, 2017 in Colorado Springs, CO.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Remsen, IA. Burial will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery, at a later date. Visitation with family present will be 4-7:30 p.m. on Monday, October 23, 2017. There will be a parish rosary at 5pm and vigil prayer service at 7:30pm. all at Fisch Funeral Home & Monument in Remsen, IA. Condolences can be sent online to www.fischfh.com

She was born in Le Mars, Iowa, June 3, 1947, the second of seven children born to the late Robert D. (Bud) and Mary Jane Snyder.

Donna graduated from Marcus High School, Marcus IA, in 1965. After graduation, she obtained her Nursing Degree from St. Joe’s School of Nursing in Sioux City, IA. She spent her dedicated working career as an RN at Saint Francis Hospital, Community Health Center, and Mission Medical in Colorado Springs.

On October 25, 1969 she married the ever so rambunctious Jerry Wurth of Remsen, IA and they started their home South of Remsen. After bringing three sons, Troy, Todd and Tyler into the world, they made a move to Colorado Springs, CO in 1980.

Family and friends were the most important part of her life. In her professional career she touched many lives. Nursing was more than a career to her, it was her passion, her life, and was often heard saying it was “Carrying out God’s work on earth”. She was described by her peers as a leader of the likes they’ve never seen. She had an amazing ability to listen and empathize with staff and volunteers to keep the workplace moving forward. She fought battles where others would have given up because she knew in her heart it was the right thing to do, most importantly for the patients she served. She craftily threaded the love of Christ into everything she did. She will be best remembered for her laugh and sense of humor. She was even titled “the laughing Grandma” by one of her grandchildren. Everyone who knew her will say that this is what they will miss most about her.

She leaves behind her beloved husband Jerry Wurth, loving sons, Troy (Brandi) of Peoria AZ, Todd (Kristi) of Lander WY, Tyler (Melissa) Colorado Springs, CO; eight wonderful grandchildren, Arika Johnson, Austin De Leon, Scott Wurth, Carsten Wurth, Haley Burrow, Emori Wurth, Syrus Wurth, Orion Wurth, and great grandson, Owen Johnson. She is also survived by her siblings Sue Stoos, Mary Alice (Chester) Wurth, Barbara (Patrick) Gossen, Patty (John) Sand, and Steve Snyder, sister-in-law Rhonda Snyder and her “special sister” Margie Kersten. Also survived by in-laws Gene (Janet) Wurth, Pod Wurth, Don Wurth, Betty Niehus, Trudy Wurth, Nick (Marlene) Wurth, Steve (Doris) Wurth, Chet (Mary Alice) Wurth, Wayne (Mary Joyce) Wurth, Joyce (Wayne) Heidesch, Vern (Barb) Wurth, several nieces, nephews and many extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Mike Snyder, nephew Ernest Wurth, and in-laws Rich Stoos, Shirley (John) Felts, Bill Wurth, Don Wurth, & Milo Wurth
