Agnes M. Wiederholt

Agnes M. Wiederholt, 84, of Sioux City, IA and formerly of Granville, IA, died Sunday, Sept. 9, 2018 at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, IA. 

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 14, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Granville with Father Dan Greving officiating.  Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery in Granville, IA.  Visitation with family present will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday.  There will be a parish rosary and vigil prayer service all at 5  p.m. at the church in Granville.

Agnes was born Nov. 17, 1933 at rural Granville, IA, the daughter of Joseph & Eleanore (Oberbroekling) Schuver.  She was raised in the Granville area.  She attended rural school until the 6thgrade, then St. Joseph Catholic School in Granville from which she graduated in 1951.    

On Nov. 17, 1953 she married Marvin Wiederholt at Granville.  They lived in various communities in Iowa and Minnesota.  They were divorced in March 1986.  In 2014 she moved to Sioux City, IA. 

Agnes was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, church guild and Christian Mothers.  She enjoyed making wedding, anniversary and graduation cakes and oil painting scenery pictures. 

Survivors include five daughters, Karen (Tom) Pottebaum of Granville, IA, Jeanne Dooley and her special friend Virgil Hansen of Garretson, SD, Dianne “Dodie” (Steven) Mooney of Hawkins, TX, Linda (Don) Nieland of Marion, IA, Carmen (Jeff) Donaldson of Sioux City, IA; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 1 Great-great-grandchild; one sister, Irene (Martin) Gaul of Wausau, MO; one brother, Rudy (Winona) Schuver of Enumclaw, WA; two sisters-in-law, Geraldine Schuver of Remsen, IA, Rita Wiederholt of LeMars, IA.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Randy Wiederholt, one granddaughter, Alesia Mooney, one great-granddaughter, Brea Mooney, 2 brothers, Henry and Walter Schuver, one sister, Lorraine Konz. 

Casket bearers will be, her grandchildren, Cheri Waterhouse, April Wiederholt, Beau Zorgdrager, Amber Swanson, Katie Wilson, Waylon Swanson, William Mooney, Amanda White, Tony Nieland and Brittni Donaldson.
