Alex Renken, 19 years old, of Remsen, IA passed away suddenly Saturday, Oct. 27, 2012.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday, Nov. 2, 2012, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Remsen with Rev. William McCarthy officiating. Burial will be in the St. Mary’s Cemetery in Remsen. Visitation will be anytime after 4 p.m. on Thursday, Nov.1, 2012. There will be a parish rosary at 5 p.m. and a vigil prayer service at 7:30 p.m. all at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Remsen. Service have been entrusted to Fisch Funeral Home & Monument n Remsen.
Alex was born on Feb. 8, 1993, the son of Keith & Angie (Vaske) Renken. He was raised in Remsen and attended St. Mary’s Catholic School graduating in 2011. Alex has been a LeMars Daily Sentinel paper carrier since he was 8 years old at the age of 16 he then began working at Walmart in LeMars.
Alex was a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church and was also an alter server. He loved to help others and spend time with his family. He enjoyed camping, playing & watching football. He was an avid MinnesotaVikings & North Carolina Tarheels basketball fan.
Survivors include: his parents, Keith & Angie Renken; His brother & sisters, Cassandra, Phillip & Rachael all of Remsen, Foreign exchange student sister, Yeo Kyung An of South Korea; Maternal grandparents, Aloysius & Susie Vaske of Remsen; Paternal Grandmother, Ethel Renken of LeMars, IA; Aunts & Uncles, Rick Vaske, Laurie (Todd) Gerritts both of Remsen, Joe Vaske of Houston, TX, Andy Vaske of Remsen, Mary Vaske of Lemars, IA, Connnie (Franco) Taracena of Sioux City, IA, Tom (Katie) Vaske of LeMars, IA, Connie (Glen) Kellen of LeMars, IA, Nancy (Steve) Scholten of Alton, IA, Julie (Eric) Athens of LeMars, IA, Joyce (Ryan) Barents of LeMars, IA, Numerous Cousins & Friends.
Preceded in death by, Grandfather, Marvin Renken, Uncle Terry Renken in infancy.
