Beldon C. Parks, 92, of Granville, IA & formerly of Cameron, MO, died Friday, Feb. 7, 2014 at Happy Siesta Health Care Center in Remsen, IA. 
            Visitation will be held at 12:30p.m. Thursday, Feb. 13, 2014 at Denver Baptist Church in Denver, MO.  There will be a short service at 1 p.m. with Graveside Services to follow at 1:30 p.m. at Grandview Cemetery in Albany, MO.  Services have been entrusted to the Fisch Funeral Home & Monument of Remsen.

            Beldon was born March 19, 1921 at Bethany, MO, the son of Olen & Ruby (Spainhower) Parks.  He was raised and educated in Gentry County, MO area.  He enlisted in the National Guard and then on Nov. 25, 1940 he enlisted in the U.S. Army.  He served in Normandy, Rhineland, Ardennes and Central Europe during WWII.  During his service he was awarded five Bronze stars.  He was honorably discharged on July 23, 1945.  On Oct. 31, 1945 he married Audrey Ballard at Troy, KS.  The couple made their home in Albany, MO.  In 1970 they moved Cameron, MO where they lived for nearly 30 years.  In 2001 they moved to Granville, IA to be closer to their daughter, Jerilyn & family.  Audrey died May 15, 2010.  He had been a resident of the Happy Siesta Health Care Center since Oct. 26, 2012.

            Beldon was a loving father, grandfather & great-grandfather.  He enjoyed fishing, camping, watching westerns, ride horses, dancing and BBQ.

            Survivors include: four sons, Lloyd Parks & his wife Dianne of Des Moines, IA; Marvin Parks & his wife Judy of Burlington, IA; Larry Parks & his wife Cheri; Robert Parks & his wife Frances all of Jacksonville, FL; One daughter Jerilyn Plathe & her husband Randy of Granville, IA; 10 Grandchildren; 5 Great-grandchildren; 3 brothers-in-law, Carroll Parks of Gallatin, MO; Danny Parks & his wife Mary of Blue Springs, MO; Phillip Parks & his wife of San Antonio, TX.  3 sisters-in-law, Maxine Craven of Agate, CO; Betty Wiederholt of Maryville, MO; Rachel Downey of Allendale, MO; Several nieces & nephews.

            Preceeded in death by his parents, two brothers-in-law, James & Dwayne Ballard, three sisters-in-law, Viva Jean Parks, one in infancy, & Wanda Thomas.

            Casket bearers will be his grandsons.

            Memorials can be directed to Hospice of Siouxland.
