Betty J. Galles, 56 of Remsen, IA, died Sunday, Aug. 11, 2013 at Happy Siesta Health Care Center in Remsen.
Funeral Service will be Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2013 at 10 a.m. from St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Remsen, IA. Burial will be in the St. Mary’s Cemetery in Remsen. Visitation will be any time after 4 p.m. Tuesday Aug. 13, 2013. There will be a parish rosary at 5 p.m. & a vigil prayer service at 7 p.m. followed by a Catholic Order of Foresters Rosary all at Fisch Funeral Home & Monument in Remsen.
Betty was born March 29, 1957, at LeMars, IA, the daughter of Arnold and Coletta (Plathe) Galles. She was raised in Remsen. From 1968 to 1978 she was educated at Hope Haven in Rock Valley, IA. She then moved to Handicap Village in Sheldon until 1980. From 1980 to 2012 she lived at The Pride Group in LeMars and worked at Life Skills before entering the Happy Siesta Health Care Center in Remsen.
Betty was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and Catholic Order of Foresters.
Betty is survived by her six siblings, Roger (Donna) Galles, Jim (LaVonne) Galles, Larry (Ann) Galles all of Remsen, Mary (Denny) Hansen of Tracy, MN, Randy (Lavonne) Galles, Ann (Jerry) Bohnenkamp both of Remsen; many nieces and nephews.
Preceeded by: her parents, one nephew, Russ Galles, one niece Amy Galles.
Casket Bearers will be, Mike, Brad, Tom and Steven Galles, Mike Ricke, Jason Bohnenkamp.
C.O.F. Honorary Bearers will be, Lisa Plendl, Lisa Zbylut, Jennifer Ruba, Mary Couture, Maria Ricke, Laura Bohnenkamp.
