Carol Catharine Braun, 68 of Remsen died Friday, November 28, 2020 peacefully at home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, December 3, 2020 at St Mary’s Catholic Church in Remsen, IA with Father William McCarthy officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Remsen, IA. Keeping to social distancing guidelines at that time, visitation with family present will be 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday at Fisch Funeral Home & Monument in Remsen. Visitation will resume 1 hour prior to the service on Thursday at the funeral home. If you are unable to attend, the funeral will be live-streamed at www.fischfh.com.
Carol was born on October 12, 1952 to Edward & Helen (Arens) Jaminet in LeMars, Iowa. She was raised in Remsen and received her education from St. Mary’s Catholic Schools graduating in 1971. Carol then attended Stewart’s School of Beauty in Sioux City, IA.
Carol married her high school sweetheart, Jerry Braun on July 20, 1974 at Remsen St. Mary’s Catholic Church. The couple made their home in Remsen, where Carol worked as an in home day care provider and did clerical work for JB Propane.
Carol is a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church, church guild and Catholic Order of Foresters.Carol first and foremost loved her family and her grandchildren. She loved camping, fishing, crafting, playing cards and was known to frequent a casino or two. Carol loved to laugh and was giving to those close to her.
Survivors include her husband, Jerry Braun of Remsen; her three daughters, Natalie Braun Eldred of Gilbert, Iowa and her children, Eli, Ean and Eko Eldred; Courtney (Josh) Hill of Remsen, Iowa and their children, Mason and Lincoln Hill; Tiffany (Steve) Konz of LeMars, Iowa and their children, Brek, Dade and Boyd Konz; Carol’s brother and sisters, Dan (Diane) Jaminet, Rose (Don) Majeres and Paul Jaminet all of Remsen, Iowa; Family friend: Louise Tadlock; Beloved dog, LeRoy; mother-in-law, Doris Braun of Remsen, in-laws; Roger (Renee) Braun of Cherokee, IA, Richard (Rose Mary) Braun of Omaha, NE, Fred (Misty) Braun of Elk Point, SD, Bill (Brenda) Braun of Le Mars, IA, Marilyn (Marty) Roarty of Elkhorn, NE, Russ (Melodie) Braun of Adel, IA; numerous nieces and nephews.
Carol is preceded in death by her parents, Helen and Edward Jaminet, her brother Dave Jaminet, her father-in-Law, Arthur Braun, her brother-in-law, Jim Braun, her grandparents Mollie (Kennedy) and Jim Arens and Catharine (Ryan) and John Jaminet and many aunts, uncles and close friends.
Casket bearers will be Eli Eldred, Brek Konz, Mason Hill, Ean Eldred, Eko Eldred, Dade Konz, Lincoln Hill and Boyd Konz.
