Connie L. Kohler, 70 of Remsen, IA died Saturday, Nov. 17, 2012 at her home near Remsen, IA.
        Funeral Service will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church rural Marcus, IA, with Rev. Don Meyer officiating.  Burial will be in the Remsen Community Cemetery.  Visitation will be anytime after 4 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2012.  There will be a prayer service at 7 p.m. all at Fisch Funeral Home & Monument in Remsen.  Visitation  will resume 9:30 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the church.
        Connie was born Dec. 18, 1941 at Charter Oak, IA, the daughter of Harold & Loretta (Schinkel) Weiss.  She was raised and educated in Charter Oak graduating from Charter Oak School in 1960. 
        On May 11, 1962 she married Kenneth Kohler.  They made their home on a farm north of Remsen.  They celebrated 50 blessed years together.  Connie cooked at Remsen Union School, she was an aide at Happy Siesta Health Care Center in Remsen for many years.  She also worked at Floyd Valley Hospital in LeMars until she retired in Jan. of 2001.
        Connie was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church & the church Ladies Aid, She enjoyed spending time with her family. Her joy was spending as much time as she could with her grandchildren.  She also enjoyed traveling, especially their trip to Alaska, wintering in Texas, motorcycle riding and crocheting hundreds of prayer shawls for cancer parients.
        She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Kenneth of Remsen; daughter, Deb (Tim) Bonnstetter of Remsen and their children Amanda Ruden, Zachary & Autum Bonnstetter; son, Doug (Madeline) Kohler of Ocean Springs, MS and their children Brian & Kelley Kohler; son Dean (Kim) Kohler of Cherokee, IA and their children Jacob, Brittney & Brandon Kohler, Blake & Andy Brandt;  one brother, Dennis (Patti) Weiss of Omaha, NE; one sister, Teresa (Don) Mordhorst of Soldier, IA; one aunt, Janet Landgraf of Omaha, NE; Numerous nieces & nephews.
        Preceded by, her parents, one son, David Kohler & one daughter Diane in infancy.
        Casket Bearers will be her grandsons
         Honorary Bearers will be her granddaughters
