Dorothy C. Konz, 93 years old, of LeMars, IA passed away Tuesday, July 30, 2019, at Good Samaritan Society in Le Mars, IA.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday, Aug. 2, 2019, at St. Catherine Catholic Church in Oyens, IA with Father William McCarthy officiating and Deacon Rick Roder assisting. Burial will follow in the St. Catherine Cemetery in Oyens. Visitation with family present will be 4-7p.m. on Thursday. There will be a parish rosary and a vigil prayer service at 5 p.m. at Fisch Funeral Home & Monument in Remsen. Visitation will resume from 9-10 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
Dorothy was born Oct. 22, 1925 to Peter J. and Minnie (Meis) Delperdang in Le Mars, IA. She was raised and attended St. Catherine’s Catholic School in Oyens.
She married Robert Konz on June 18, 1946 at St. Catherine Catholic Church in Oyens, IA and farmed in the Primghar area for 3 years. In 1951, they moved near Le Mars where they continued farming and Dorothy was a housewife. Bob passed away Dec. 4, 2014.
Dorothy was a member of St. Catherine Catholic Church, St. Catherine Guild, Remsen V.F.W. Auxiliary and past member of the Christian Mothers. Dorothy enjoyed sewing, playing cards, embroidery, bowling and fishing. She also loved spending time with her family. She fondly remembered playing ball with the family.
Survivors include: two sons, Marcel (Vickie) Konz of Oyens, IA, Tom Konz of Le Mars; four daughters, Kathy Delzeit of Plainville, KS, Betty (Rick) Gotto, Eldora, IA, Darlene (Jim) Oetken of Sioux City, IA, Rose (Jason) Altman of Davis, SD; 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Sister Janet Delperdang of Sinsinawa, WI, Rita Wiederholt of LeMars, IA.
Preceded in death by, her husband, her parents; daughter, Janet; son, Richard; one grandson, Mike Stoos, one son-in-law, Don Delzeit, one sister, Mildred Kinney, two brothers, Ralph and Francis Delperdang, five sisters-in-law: Rita Delperdang, Ann, Rose, Liz and Martha; six brothers-in-law, Pete, George, Bernard, Sylvester, Albert and Ray.
Casket Bearers will be: Matt Gotto, Courtney Snoozy, Jill Boetger, Cassie McDougall, Krista Peters and Andrea Hamilton.
Honorary Bearers will be, Sarah Langel, Ashley Snoozy, Kim Kimbrow and Amy Thomason.
