Father Robert Gralapp, 78, of Carroll, Iowa and formerly of LeMars, died January 12, 2017 at Carroll, Iowa.

Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday January 18, 2017 at All Saints Parish-St. Joseph Catholic Church in LeMars with BishopR. Walker Nickless officiating and principal concelebrants will be Rev. Kevin Richter, Rev. John Thomas with other priests of the Diocese of SiouxCity concelebrating. Interment will follow at the Calvary Cemetery in LeMars. Visitation with family present will be 4:30-7 p.m. Tuesday, January 17, 2016, there will be a vigil prayer service at 7 p.m. all at All Saints Parish-St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in LeMars. Visitation will resume Wednesday morning from 9:30 until service time at the church.

Father Gralapp was born April 1, 1938, at LeMars, Iowa, the son of Darrell and Connie (Fisch) Gralapp. He was raised and educated at GehlenSchools graduating in 1956. He then attended Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa, graduating in 1960. He then enrolled in Mt. St. Bernard’s Seminary inDubuque, Iowa, for four years and was ordained a priest in 1964.Over the years he served in many Catholic Parishes. From 1964-68 he was the Assistant at Immaculate Conception Parish in Sioux City,Iowa. 1968-69 he was the Assistant at Corpus Christi Parish in Fort Dodge, Iowa.1969-73 he was the Assistant at Sacred Heart Parish in Spencer, Iowa. 1973-75 he was Pastor of St. Cecelia Parish in Sanborn attending St. Joseph Parish in Hartley, Iowa. 1975-79 he was the Pastor of Holy Family Parish in Lidderdale, Iowa attending St. Elizabeth Seton Parish in Glidden. 1979 to 1986 He was the pastor of Nativity Parish in Sioux City, Iowa. 1986-91 he was the Pastor of St. Joseph Parish in Granville, Iowa. 1991-94he was the Pastor of St. Lawrence Parish in Carroll, Iowa. 1994-2010 He was the Pastor of Sacred Heart Church in Manilla, Iowa. 2010-14 He was the Pastor of Sacred Heart Church in Manning, Iowa attending to Manilla. In 2014 Father Bob retired to live in Carroll, Iowa.He was a member of the Knights of Columbus.

Survivors include; Housekeeper, Ruth Ann Tigges of Carroll, One brother, Allan Gralapp and his wife Mary of Sigourney, IA, One niece, two nephews and 5 great niece and nephews.

Father Gralapp was preceded in death by his parents.
