Franklin J. Wilson

December 20, 1949 — April 7, 2016

Frank J. Wilson, 66 years old, of Remsen, IA, died Thursday, April 7, 2016 at Heartland Care Center in Marcus, IA after a courageous battle with cancer.
            Funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Monday, April 11, 2016, at Fisch Funeral Home & Monument in Remsen with Pastor Luke Cargin from LeMars Church of Christ officiating.  Family burial will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Remsen.  Visitation with family present will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, April 10, 2016 there will be a prayer service at 7 p.m. all at Fisch Funeral Home & Monument in Remsen.  Visitation will resume from 9:30 a.m. until service time Monday.
            Frank was born Dec. 20, 1949, at Rowley, IA, the son of Delbert Wilson & Geraldine (Myers) Andrews.  He was raised and educated in Rowley, IA.  He then worked at numerous occupations over the years.  His last jobs were working at Advance Brands in Orange City, IA and IML Containers in LeMars, IA.   
            He was united in marriage to Edna Brown and to this union two sons were born.  The couple made their home in Remsen. 
            Frank enjoyed fishing, pheasant hunting, gardening, canning, he was an excellent cook and a true giver throughout his life to several charitable organizations.  He loved putting on a good fireworks show and BBQ for his friends and family.
Survivors include: his wife Edna of Remsen; two sons, Marlowe (Krista) Wilson of Hamburg, IA, Darin Wilson of Sioux Falls, SD; two grandchildren, Bailey and Thomas Wilson of Hamburg, IA; two sisters, Phyllis (Glen) Kurz of Muscatine, IA, DeeAnn (Julian) Ortiz of Conesville, IA; one brother-in-law, Fred (Sue) Brown of Waterbury, NE; two sisters-in-law, Roberta (Lon) Fry of Indianola, IA and Mona (Gary) Schiltz of Craig, IA, numerous nieces and nephews.
            Preceded by: his parents, one brother, Rex Wilson, his step father, Charles Andrews, his step mother, Marie Wilson.
