Helen Wiederholt, 93, of Remsen,IA, formerly of Sioux City and LeMars died Friday, December 23, 2011 at Happy Siesta Care Center in Remsen.
      Services will be 10:30 am Friday, December 30, 2011 at  St.Mary’s Catholic Church in Remsen, with Rev. William McCarthy officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Visitation will be after 2 pm Thursday, December 29, 2011. There will be a parish rosary at 3 pm and a vigil prayer service at 7 pm at Fisch Funeral Home and Monument in Remsen.
      Helen was born February 27, 1918, in Remsen, IA, the daughter of Joseph and Regina ( Sudtelgte) Staab. Helen graduated from St Mary’s high school in 1935. She attended Briar Cliff College from 1936-1937. She married Norbert Roder, November 24, 1941 and they farmed in the Remsen area. Norbert died December 16, 1942. She then worked as a bookkeeper for Farmers Union Coop in Sioux City. She married Vitus Wiederholt , April 19, 1948 and they made their home in Sioux City.
      Survivors include 2 sons and their wives, Barry and Verlyn  Denver, Co,  Dennis and Patty  Omaha,Ne; two daughters and their husbands, Sharon and William Glowacki, Davenport,IA, and Barbara and David Reynolds, Chapel Hill, NC; daughter-in-law Peggy Wiederholt, Madison, WI; one brother, Roman Staab, Remsen,IA, a sister and her husband, Ritamary and Ed Schaaf Eugene,OR; and sisters-in law, Rita Wiederholt, Aggie Wiederholt, Elaine Wiederholt, Peg Roder, Lorna Majers; and 10 grandchildren, Robert and Paul Glowacki, Lisa Koehler, Jade, Kyle, and Cory Wiederholt, Mekel Wiederholt Meier, Megan, Samuel, and Brian Reynolds, and 12 great grandchildren.
      Helen was a long time member of Blessed Sacrament Church and the Little Flower Circle, Sioux City, and the Catholic Daughters of America.
      She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Vitus Wiederholt; son, Joseph Wiederholt; daughter-in-law, Jo Marie Wiederholt; granddaughter, Christine Glowacki; brother, Ervin Staab; sisters, Doris Reilly and Elizabeth Schilmoeller; sisters-in-law, Fern Staab, Maxine Staab, Blanche Wiederholt, Verena Beckmann; brothers-in-law, Emil Schilmoeller, Don Reilly, Frank Beckmann, Leonard Wiederholt, Marvin Wiederholt, and Bernard Wiederholt.
      In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Blessed Sacrament Church, Heelan High School, Sioux City,IA, or St. Mary’s Church, Remsen, IA.
