Joan Frances Loutsch

February 2, 1925 — January 12, 2012

Joan Frances Loutsch, 86 years old, of LeMars, IA died Thursday, Jan. 12, 2012, at her home.  
      Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m., Monday, Jan. 16, 2012, at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Oyens with Rev. William McCarthy.  Burial will be in the St. Catherine’s Catholic Cemetery in Oyens.  Visitation will be anytime after 2 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 15, 2012.  There will be a parish rosary at 3 p.m. and a vigil prayer service at 7 p.m. at Fisch Funeral Home & Monument in Remsen.
      Joan was born on Feb. 2, 1925, at rural Granville, IA, the daughter of John & Martha (Bernard) Goebel.  She was raised in the Granville area and received her education at St. Joseph’s Catholic School in Granville.
      On April 23, 1946 she married Raymond Loutsch at Granville.  The couple made their home near Oyens where they farmed until retiring on the farm in 1985
      Joan was a member of St. Catherine’s Catholic Church, Church Guild & Christian Mothers.
      Survivors include: her husband Raymond of LeMars; one son, Charles & his wife Kim of LeMars; four daughters & their husbands, Suzanne & Walter Brummer of Denison, IA, Joyce & Thomas Pick of LeMars, Connie & Randy Ortmann of Remsen, IA, Marian & Jim Wess of Alton, IA; 20 Grandchildren; 18 Great-grandchildren, two Brothers, Firmin Goebel & his wife Rosanne of Worthington, MN, John Gerald Goebel & his wife Mary Ann of Granville; two sisters, Arlene McDermott of Kingsley, IA, Mary Estella Murphy of Cherokee, IA; five Sisters-in-law, Angeline Goebel of Worthington, MN, Wilma Loutsch of Dysert, IA, Dorothy Kilker of LeMars, IA, Lorna Loutsch of Akron, IA, Jerry Loutsch of Indianola, IA, Mary Wells & her husband Ben of Cherokee, IA.
      Preceded in death by, her parents; one granddaughter, Amy Loutsch, one great-granddaughter, Gabrielle Pick, four brothers, Odilo, Ivan, Magnus & his wife Leona, Linus & his wife Mildred Goebel, Sister, Vivian & her husband Pete Homan.
      Casket Bearers will be: Kevin, Keith & Kyle Ortmann, Marc, Chris & Matt Pick.
      Honorary Bearers will be: Sheila Brummer Disterhaupt, Sarah, Shanna & Shelly Brummer, Jackie Pick Harris, Angie Loutsch Conley, Lisa Loutsch Bahe, Rachel Loutsch Martin, Joan Loutsch Ahlers. Erin Wess Nielsen, Leanne Wess Steensen, Katie & Kristi Wess.
      A special thank you to Dr. Jonathan Grossman, Rev. William McCarthy & Orange City Area Health System Hospice & a special thank you to Cindy Pottebaum & Kim Jansma for all the care they provided Joan.
