Lloyd Wolf

Lloyd Wolf, 86 of Remsen, IA passed away Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2015 at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, IA.
           
Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Remsen, IA with Rev. William McCarthy officiating, Rev. Anthony Pick and Rev. Tom Topf concelebrating and Deacon Rick Roder assisting.  Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Remsen, IA.  Visitation will be any time after 4 p.m. Monday, Nov. 30, 2015.  There will be a parish rosary at 5 p.m. and a vigil prayer service at 7 p.m. followed by a Knights of Columbus Rosary, all at Fisch Funeral Home & Monument in Remsen.  Services have been entrusted to the Fisch Funeral Home & Monument of Remsen.
           
Lloyd was born April 7, 1929, in LeMars, IA the son of Peter and Lillian (Konz) Wolf.  He was raised in the Remsen area and attended rural school and graduated from Remsen St. Mary’s High School in 1946.

           
He married Phyllis Pletschette in 1950.  The couple farmed and fed cattle south of Remsen for 43 years before retiring and moving into Remsen in 1993.


Lloyd was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, the Church Board, Knights of Columbus, The Farmers Co-Op Board and the Sioux City Production Credit Board.  He enjoyed playing cards and reading.  He loved traveling, visiting his children and spending time with his grandchildren.

                                 
Survivors include; his wife Phyllis of Remsen; his children, David (Santina) Wolf of Frederick, MD, Bill (Diana) Wolf of Remsen, Kathryn Wolf and Hermann Wiemer of Ithaca, NY, Jane (Paul) Bunkers of Santa Ana, CA; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Arlene Wolf of Remsen, Mary Ellen Bumann of Cherokee, IA, Jean Higgins of Louisville, TX; one brother-in-law, Emmett (Karen) Pletschette of Copperopolis, CA.

Preceded by: his parents, one grandson, Louis Bunkers, his brother, James (Margareta) Wolf, his sisters, Mercedes (Donald) Kilker and Evelyn (Sylvester) Miller.

Casket Bearers will be Shaun Wolf, Philip Wolf, Claire Bunkers, Scott Skowronski, Tim Bierman and Garret Bunkers.


Knights of Columbus honorary bearers will be members of the K of C.
