Lois Mary Loutsch

January 3, 1924 — April 17, 2016

Lois Loutsch, 92 of Remsen, IA passed away on April 17 at Remsen. 

Funeral services will be 10:30 am Thursday, April 21, 2016 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Remsen with Rev. William McCarthy officiating and Deacon Roder assisting. Burial will follow in the St. Mary’s Cemetery in Remsen.  Visitation with family present will be any time after 4 p.m. on Wednesday, April 20, 2016, there will be a parish rosary at 5 p.m. and a vigil prayer service at 7 p.m. all at Fisch Funeral Home & Monument in Remsen.

Lois Loutsch was born on January 3, 1924 in Marcus, Iowa; daughter of Joseph and Mary (Galles) Alesch.  She attended Holy Name Grade School in Marcus until the 8th grade and graduated from Marcus Public School in 1942.  Lois then attended National Business Training College in Sioux City and was then employed at the L.J. McGivern Attorney Office in Marcus for one year and then at the Woodbury County Savings Bank as a teller in Sioux City, Iowa. She was married to Wayne Lenertz on January 12, 1949 at Holy Name Catholic Church in Marcus, Iowa.  Wayne passed away on June 22, 1959. Lois then was employed at the Farmers Savings Bank in Remsen for three years and then worked for Drs. George, Christensen, and Erps office until her marriage to Earl Loutsch in 1966.

She was a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church, church guild, Catholic Daughters of America and Secular Order of St. Francis. Lois enjoyed baking cookies, homemade bread and cinnamon rolls for her family, which they loved.  She also enjoyed going to family activities, playing cards, reading, and an occasional trip to the casino and horse races.

Lois is survived by her husband Earl of Remsen, Iowa; sons Dick (Susan) Lenertz of Highlands Ranch, Colorado, Bob (Leslie) Loutsch of Remsen, Iowa, and three daughters, Laurie (Paul) Ritz of Bloomington, Minnesota, Connie (Rick) Pavek of Faribault, Minnesota, and Diane Lenertz of Lytton, Iowa; one son -in-law Ron (Barb) Schnoes of LeMars, IA.  In addition Lois is survived by twenty three grandchildren, thirty-three great grandchildren, one step-daughter, Joanne (Roger) Hubner of Mountain Grove, Missouri; one step daughter-in-law, Glenda Loutsch of Ankeny, IA; one stepson-in-law Mike Price of Sioux City, IA; brother-in-law Francis Neubert of Mankato, Minnesota and sister-in-law Anne Alesch of Marcus, Iowa.

Preceding Lois in death were her parents, daughter Kristine Schnoes, stepson Jack Loutsch, stepdaughter

Mary Price, five sisters:  Lorene (John) Clarkson, Sally (Andy) Ballard, Charlotte (Tony) Rodesch, Helen (Ervin) Herrig, Norma Neubert, twin brother Lorne, brother Larry Alesch.

Casket bearers will be Kevin Ritz, Matt Lenertz, Eric Schnoes, Justin Loutsch, Matt Ritz, Brad Lenertz.

Honorary bearers will be the rest of her grandchildren.
