Marilyn G. Brazil, 45 years old, of Sioux Falls, SD and formerly of Remsen, IA, passed away peacefully, with her husband at her side, Sunday, Aug. 31, 2014, at Dougherty Hospice House in Sioux Falls.
            Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 4, 2014, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Remsen with Rev. William McCarthy officiating.  Burial will be at a later date at St. Mary’s Cemetery.  Visitation will be any time after 9 a.m. until service time on Thursday at Fisch Funeral Home & Monument in Remsen.
            Marilyn Genevieve was born March 13, 1969, at LeMars, IA, the daughter of Lawrence & Margaret (Froman) Brazil.  She was baptized on March 20, 1969 and confirmed March 18, 1982 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in her hometown of Remsen, IA.  Marilyn graduated from Remsen Union High School in 1988.  After graduation, Marilyn lived and worked in LeMars before moving to Sioux Falls.  She worked at Apple Tree Day Care, Lutheran Social Services as a cook, as a nurse aide at several nursing homes and in laundry at many hotels.
            On March 22, 2003 she married Cecil Weismantel at Sioux Falls, SD.
            Survivors include: her loving husband Cecil Weismantel of Sioux Falls, SD; her mother, Margaret (Brazil) Montag and her husband Dan of Emmetsburg, IA; Siblings, William Brazil of Los Angeles, CA, Ann (Eric) Rowenhorst of Sioux Falls, SD, Lewis (Colleen) Brazil of Elkhorn, NE, Leonard (Julie) Brazil of Remsen; nieces and nephews, Matt and Alyssa Brazil, Cal and Ty Rowenhorst, Emily, Noah and Stephen Brazil; her very good friends and roommates Shell Smith-Carroll, Kyle and Hayden Carroll.
           Preceded by: her father Lawrence Brazil, grandparents, Lewis and Rosella Brazil and Carroll and Genevieve Froman, her in-laws Willis and Arlene Weismantel
           Casket bearers will be Matthew and Alyssa Brazil, Cal and Ty Rowenhorst, Emily, Noah and Stephen Brazil.
