Marion K. Staab, 90 years old, of Remsen, IA died Saturday, Nov. 1, 2014 at her home near Remsen. 

            Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday, Nov. 7, 2014, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Remsen with Rev. William McCarthy officiating and Deacon Rick Roder assiating.  Burial will be in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Remsen.  Visitation will be anytime after 4 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 6, 2014.  There will be a parish rosary at 5 p.m., and a vigil prayer service at 7 p.m. all at Fisch Funeral Home & Monument in Remsen.

            Marion was born on Nov. 25, 1923, at Akron, IA the daughter of John & Josephine (Shea) Henrich.  She was raised and educated in Akron and graduated from Akron High School in 1941.

            On Oct. 2, 1945 she married Milo “Mike” Staab.  The couple made their home on a farm north of Remsen.  Marion was a host at the Golden Pheasant and cook at Happy Siesta Health Care Center both in Remsen for 12 years.  She then worked as a cook at Remsen Union untill she retired at the age of 83.  Mike died April 30, 2001.

           Marion was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and church guild for 50 years.  She loved her dogs, Birds and her flowers.

           Survivors include: her daughter, Donna (Roger) Hestermann; Her son Paul (Kim) Staab both of Remsen;  Grandchildren, Amy (Jason) Brancs of Lebenon, PA, Christopher (Melissa) Beeck of Palmyra, NE, Kati (James) Yelkin of Eagle, NE, Sara Beeck of LeMars, IA, Michael Staab of Remsen, Mandy Staab of LeMars, IA; 10 Great-grandchildren, Garrett and Callie Beeck, Calvin, Camilla, Joshua and Lucas Yelkin, Kiefer Schmidt, Chloe Vaske, Maddison and Sadie Staab;  two sisters-in-law, Olga Stoffel of Baldwin, WI and Elaine Staab of Remsen.

          Preceded in death by, her parents, two brothers, Jack (Amilia) Henrich and Gerald (Bernice) Henrich, Sister-in-law, Thelma (John) Brown, two Brothers-in-law, Ralph (Rose Mary) Staab and Bill Stoffel, three nephews, Mark Staab, Matt Brown, Mylin Henrich, four Nieces, Jane Staab, Kay (Henrich) Shoenfelder, Mary Henrich-Jewell, Jackie (Henrich) Gimberline.

          Casket Bearers will be Christopher Beeck, Michael Staab, Michael Stoffel, Carl Staab, Jim Henrich, Clair Galles.
