Mary Lee Sheehan, 57 years old, of LeMars, IA, passed away Saturday, Nov. 2, 2013 at Floyd Valley Hospital in LeMars, IA.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2013, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Remsen with Rev. William McCarthy and Deacon Rick Roder officiating. Burial will be in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Remsen. Visitation will be anytime after 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2013. There will be a parish rosary at 5 p.m. and a vigil prayer service at 7 p.m. all at the Fisch Funeral Home & Monument in Remsen, IA.
Mary was born Feb. 25, 1956, at LeMars, IA, the daughter of Clayton and Pat (Pick) Harnack. She was raised and educated in the Remsen area and graduated from Remsen St. Mary’s High School in 1974.
On July 31, 1976 she married Pat Sheehan at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Remsen. Mary was employed at St. Mary’s Lunch Program for several years, Happy Siesta Health Care Center in Remsen for several years, and Heartland Care Center in Marcus this past year.
Mary was a member of St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Oyens and also St. Catherine’s Guild. Mary enjoyed cooking, and looking at cookbooks, collecting dolls, gardening, and spending time with her family.
Mary is survived by her husband, Pat; her son Scott Sheehan and his fiancé, Jill Abrahamson; daughter Julie Sheehan all of LeMars; her mother, Pat Harnack of Remsen; three sisters, Ann (Randy) Gengler of Oyens, IA, Janet (Mike) Augustine of Sioux City, IA, Lisa (Chris) Feller of Remsen, IA; her brother, Dave (Amy) Harnack of LeMars, IA; her mother-in-law, Norma Tentinger of Remsen; three sisters-in-law, Renee Sheehan of Remsen, Madonna Shelso of Sioux Falls, SD, Peg (Blaine) Butner of Arlington, VA; one brother-in-law, Mike (Rochelle) Tentinger of Remsen; Numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceeded by: her father Clayton Harnack, Fathers-in-law, Leslie Sheehan and Emmert Tentinger, brother-in-law, Larry Sheehan, uncle, Milo Harnack.
