Mary M. Miller, 86 years old, of Remsen, IA died Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2015 at Happy Siesta Health Care Center in Remsen, IA. 
            Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday, Feb. 20, 2015, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Remsen with Rev. William McCarthy officiating.  Burial will be in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Remsen.  Visitation will be anytime after 5 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 19, 2015 with a vigil prayer service at 7 p.m., all at Fisch Funeral Home & Monument in Remsen.
            Mary was born on Dec. 19, 1928, at LeMars, IA the daughter of John and Christine (Hatz) Bentz.  Mary was raised in the Remsen area.  She attended St. Mary’s School until 8th grade when she then stayed home to help raise her siblings.  Her dad worked for Illinois Central Railroad as a Forman of section crew so she spent many days living on the train helping cook for the crew.
            On June 16, 1950 she married James Miller in St. Mary’s Catholic Church.  They made their home in the Marcus area where he worked as a farm laborer for many years.  Later they moved to Remsen where her husband worked many years for St. Mary’s High School as a janitor.  James Died Feb. 20, 1993.
           Mary was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and church guild. Past member of The Catholic Order of Foresters.
           Survivors include: her five children, Donna Passe of Orange City, IA, Larry of Remsen and special friend Carmen Heath of Storm Lake, IA, Dave of Remsen, Jeffrey (Judy) of Cherokee, IA, Rick (Shelia) of Marcus, IA; two brothers, Jim Bentz of Dubuque, IA and Gerald Bentz of Orange City, IA; 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and many many friends.
           Preceded in death by her parents, son Randy in infancy, one brother Tom Bentz, one sister-in-law, Margaret Bentz.
           Casket Bearers will be Mick Bunkers, Dustin, Mirna and Samantha Miller, Sean and Grady Passe.
