Meredith "Minnie" Schroeder

Meredith “Minnie” Schroeder, 66 years old, of Remsen, IA, died Sunday, Dec. 18, 2011, at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2011, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Remsen with Rev. Tim Johnson officiating and Rev. William McCarthy concelebrating. Burial will be in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Remsen. Visitation will be anytime after 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2011. There will be a parish rosary at 3 p.m. and a vigil prayer service at 7:30 p.m. all at the Fisch Funeral Home & Monument in Remsen, IA.
Minnie was born Jan. 12, 1945, at Sacred Heart Hospital in LeMars, IA, the daughter of Lawrence & Bernetta (Boothby) Reinert. Minnie was raised in Marcus and educated at Holy Name Catholic School through her junior year then attended Marcus Public School, graduating in 1963. She worked in a Café in Marcus for a few years.
On July 13, 1963 she married John Schroeder at Marcus. The couple lived in LeMars for a few years before moving to Remsen. Minnie & John resided on the family farm for 36 years where they currently lived. She worked at Sacred Heart Hospital, Happy Siesta Health Care Center, Plymouth County Dairy, Harker’s in LeMars, Tyson in LeMars, Hardees in LeMars, Continental Deli in Cherokee, Curley’s Food in Sioux City, IA where she was currently working.
Minnie was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and church guild. Minnie loved spending time with her family which was most important to her, shopping, working hard, Christmas, giving to others, living in the country.
Survivors include; her husband, John of Remsen; six children, daughter, Tammy Jarmuzek of Remsen, daughter, Deb Noah & her husband Mike of Sioux Falls, SD, daughter Cindy Christensen & Kevin of Cleghorn, IA, son, Todd Schroeder & his wife Shawn of Remsen, IA, daughter, Jaci Kalsbeck & her husband Kevin of Kearney, NE, Tim Schroeder of LeMars, IA. 17 grandchildren, Treavor & Tiffany Jarmuzek, Adam & Austin Noah, Codey Christensen, Chris, Meggan & Jon Schroeder, Derek Swain, Kendall & Deven Sailer, Maci & Molli Kalsbeck, Lexis, Kole & Peytyn Schroeder; 4 Great-grandchildren, Koby Jarmuzek, Karter Klein, Ava Schroeder, Khloe Noah; one expected great-granddaughter, Grace; Her mother, Bernetta Reinert of Marcus, IA; Her brothers and sisters, Judy Lubben & her husband Jerry of Remsen, Larry Reinert of Cherokee, LeRoy Reinert & his wife Sandy of Kentucky, Becky Bentzinger & her husband Rusty of Pella, IA; Her mother-in-law, Joan Schroeder of Remsen.
Preceded by: her Father Lawrence (LJ) Reinert, one grandson, Steven Christensen.
Casket Bearers will be: Treavor Jarmuzek, Chris Schroeder, Codey Christensen, Adam Noah, Jon Schroeder, Austin Noah.
Honorary Bearers will be: Derek Swain, Deven Sailer, Kole Schroeder.
