Michael James Roder

Michael J. “Mike” Roder, 60 years old, of Sioux City, IA passed away Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012 at Touchstone Living Center in Sioux City, IA.
          Memorial service will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013, at Fisch Funeral Home & Monument with Deacon Rick Roder officiating.  Burial will be in the St. Mary’s Cemetery in Remsen.  Visitation will be 10 a.m. until service time on Thursday all at Fisch Funeral Home & Monument in Remsen.
          Mike was born on Sept. 23, 1952, the son of Jerome “Jerry” & Pauline “Peg” (Frank) Roder at LeMars, IA.   Mike was raised on a farm near Remsen & attended St. Mary’s Catholic School in Remsen, graduating from St. Mary’s High School in 1970.  He then worked for Pete Feller Sales.  He also did various other jobs & spent many years on Road & street Construction in the Siouxland area.  His last job was at Advance Brands in Orange City, IA.  He entered Touchstone Living Center on Nov. 5, 2012.  He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting & watching the moon & stars.
          Survivors include: his mother, Peg; three sisters, Susan (Fred) Brown, Gerianne (George) Olson, Janice (Steve) Green all of Sioux City, IA;  three brothers, Nick Roder of Sioux City, IA, Steve (Sandy) Roder of Remsen, IA, Dan (Judy) Roder of Sioux City, IA; 15 nieces & nephews. 
          Preceded in death by, his father Jerry, his twin brother, Pat, brother, David, brother-in-law, Tom Klein, grandparents, Nick & Millie Frank.
