N. Verdine Ehrp, 95 of Remsen, IA died Tuesday, May 3, 2010 at Happy Siesta Health Care Center in Remsen, IA..
      Funeral Service will be Friday, May 6, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at Christ Lutheran Church LCMS in Remsen, with Rev. Duane Miesner officiating.  Burial will be in the Remsen Community Cemetery.  Visitation will be anytime after 4 p.m. Thursday, May 5, 2011.  There will be a prayer service at 7 p.m. all at Christ Lutheran Church LCMS in Remsen.  Visitation will resume from 9 a.m. until service time at the church Friday. Services have been entrusted to the Fisch Funeral Home & Monument of Remsen.  Condolences may be sent online to www.fischfh.com. 
      Verdine was born May 27, 1915 at Holstein, IA, the son of Claus & Matilda (Rochau) Ehrp.  Verdine was raised in the Holstein area and graduated from Holstein Public School in 1931.  On Sept. 25 1933 he enlisted into the U.S. Army National Guard and served until Aug. 12, 1939.  During that time he moved to the Merrill area and started farming.
      On Sept. 27, 1940 he married Edna Trometer at St. Paul Lutheran Church at rural Merrill, IA.  The couple farmed near Merrill until moving to the Remsen area in 1944 and retiring to Remsen in 1979.  They were snowbirds in Alamo, TX for 22 years and made many wonderful friends.  Edna died March 2, 2008.  He has been a resident at Happy Siesta Health Care Center since March 23, 2011.
      Verdine was a member of Christ Lutheran Church LCMS, He held various offices at Trinity Lutheran Church rural Marcus, was a member of a pinochle club.  He loved spending time with his family, he especially loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
      Survivors include: his two daughters, Linda Tracey & her husband Pat of Remsen, Connie Simmons of Denver, CO; Five grandchildren, Kim Sparr & her husband Mike of Remsen, Brian Tracey & his wife Shelly of McCook Lake, SD, Mike Simmons & his wife Linda of Bloomfield, NM, Jason Simmons & his wife Kandi and Amanda White all of Denver, CO; Twelve great-grandchildren, Sarah Clow & her husband Micah, Kristin, Matthew, Brianna, Jacob, Ashley, Anthony, Amanda, Tyler, Paige, Austin & Logan;  One sister, Theone Bremer & her husband Verdean of Ida Grove, IA; One sister-in-law, Dorothy Ehrp of LeMars, IA; Many nieces & nephews.
      Preceded by, his parents, one brother, Lloyd Ehrp, three brothers-in-law & three sisters-in-law.
      Casket Bearers will be, Tyler Tracey, Austin & Logan Sparr, Matthew, Jacob & Kristin Simmons.
      Honorary Bearers will be, Paige Tracey, Brianna Simmons, Sarah Clow, Anthony & Amanda Roeber, Ashley Kovarna.
