Orville Von Arb, 76 years old, of Alton, IA, died Wednesday, September 21, 2011, at Orange City Area Health Systems Hospital in Orange City, IA.          Funeral service will be at 9 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 24, 2011, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alton with Rev. Paul Eisele officiating.  Burial will be in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Alton.  Graveside military honors will be conducted by Floyd Post 200. Visitation will be anytime after 4 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 23, 2011.  There will be a rosary by the Knights of Columbus at 5 p.m., and vigil prayer service at 7 p.m., all at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alton.  Services have been entrusted to Fisch Funeral Home & Monument in Remsen.        Orville was born Sept. 19, 1935, at Alton, IA, the son of Paul & Barbara (Noethe) Von Arb.  He was raised and educated in the Alton area graduating from St. Mary’s Academy in Alton in 1954.  After School he entered the U.S. Army in 1956 and served until 1958, and then served two years in the U.S. Army Reserve.        On May 7, 1960 he married Kay Kinney at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alton, IA.  The couple made their home near Alton where they began farming on the Von Arb family farm.  Orville also delivered mail for the U.S. Postal Service.  Kay died April 5, 2011.        Orville was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church & Knights of Columbus.  Orville enjoyed farming, attending his grandchildren’s sporting events and traveling to visit family.        Survivors include: his six children, John & his wife Kathy of Nashville, TN, Larry & his wife Karla of Lisle, IL, Jim & his wife Jeanne of Huxley, IA, Patti Weidman & her husband Randy of Kansas City, MO, Cathy Van Es & her husband Galen of Orange City, IA, Chris & his wife Megan of St. Louis, MO;  Fourteen Grandchildren; Four Great-grandchildren; Three brothers, Paul Von Arb & his wife Pauline of Granville, IA, Ron Von Arb & his wife Sondra of Owatonna, MN, Robert Von Arb & his wife Glenda of Alton; Nine sisters, Charmaine List & her husband Ray of Granville, IA, Patricia Jungers of Hospers, IA, Margie Klein of Ashton, IA, Carolyn Langenfeld & her husband Vern of St. Louis, MO, Arlene Schoo & her husband Leon of St. Joseph, IA, Bev Delperdang & her husband Don of Remsen, IA, Clarissa Doggart of Alaska, Ione Nabor & her husband Harold of Granville, IA, Judy Mousel & her husband Frank of Dyersville, IA; Three sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Mousel of LeMars, IA, Charlotte Von Arb of Spring, TX, Donna Miranda & her husband Ernesto of Alton; Three brothers-in-law, Bob Kinney & his wife Sherry of Alton, Mike Kinney & his wife Jeannette of LeMars, IA, Jerry Kinney of Alton.         Preceded by: his parents; two brothers, Melvin Von Arb & his wife Lillian, Everett Von Arb; three brothers-in-law, Bernard Jungers, Leo Klein & Bill Lanzendorf; his father & mother-in-law, Robert & Marian Kinney; one sister-in-law, Darlene Kobes & her husband Ed.        Casket Bearers will be his grandchildren.
