Paul Loutsch, 82, years old, of Remsen, IA, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2016. 
           
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday, Feb. 26, 2016, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Remsen with Rev. William McCarthy officiating, Rev. Tim Johnson concelebrating & Deacon Rick Roder assisting.  Burial will be in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Remsen.  Visitation will be any time after 4 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 25, 2016.  There will be a parish rosary at 5 p.m., a vigil prayer service at 7 p.m. followed by a Knights of Columbus rosary all at Fisch Funeral Home in Remsen.  Services have been entrusted to Fisch Funeral Home & Monument in Remsen.
           
Paul was born on April 16, 1933, at Remsen, IA the son of Dominic & Catherine (Niehus) Loutsch.  He was raised and educated in the Remsen area and graduated from St. Mary’s High School in 1951. He then entered the US Army and was stationed in Alaska.
           
On Nov. 19, 1957 he married LaVonne Ruhland at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Neptune, IA.  The couple made their home near Remsen where they farmed from 1957-1993, after which they moved into Remsen. 
          
Paul was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Remsen, Knights of Columbus and V.F.W.  Paul did volunteer work for St. Mary’s for many years

Survivors include: his wife LaVonne of Remsen, his four children, Julie (Tom) Coburn of Garretson, SD, Gary (Kathy) Loutsch, Dean (Gina) Loutsch, Jodi (Todd) Bohnenkamp all of Remsen; 13 grandchildren, Mitch (Amber) Coburn, Mandi (Austin) Leite, Michael (Kayli) Coburn, Macie Coburn, Tyler (Jenna) Loutsch, Christopher Loutsch and special friend Kelsey Kool, Hannah Loutsch, Natasha, Makenzi and Miranda Loutsch, Keaton, Parker and Tessa Bohnenkamp; six great-grandchildren, Isaiah, Gavin and Gabriel Coburn, Bianca and Isla Leite and Ailyn Coburn; his siblings, Norma Tentinger of Remsen, Dale (Joyce) Loutsch of Remsen, Vernon (Marge) Loutsch of LeMars, IA, Colette Wright of Moville, IA, Alice Seuntjens of Kingsley, IA; 

He was preceded in death by, his parents, three brothers, John (Cleo) Loutsch, Gene (Mary) Loutsch, Art (Dorothy) Loutsch, two sisters, Delores (Alvin) Groepper, Kathleen (Kenneth) Groepper, two brothers-in-law, Mick Seuntjens and Farrell Wright.
      
Casket Bearers will be his grandsons, Mitch and Michael Coburn, Tyler and Christopher Loutsch, Keaton and Parker Bohnenkamp.
        
Honorary Bearers will be his granddaughters, Mandi Leiti, Macie Coburn, Hannah Loutsch, Natasha, Makenzi and Miranda Loutsch and Tessa Bohnenkamp.
         
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be directed in Paul’s name to St. Mary’s Catholic Schools Athletic and Drama Departments.
         
The family would like to thank the staff at the Alzheimer's Atrium Unit at the Happy Siesta in Remsen and special caretakers Brooke, Abbi and Jeff.
