Ramona Gloden

Ramona Gloden, 74 years old, of Hospers, IA died Tuesday, Aug. 10, 2010, at Sanford Sheldon Hospital in Sheldon, IA. 
       Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 14, 2010, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Hospers with Rev. Paul Eisele officiating.  Burial will be in the St. Anthony’s Catholic Cemetery in Hospers.  Visitation will be anytime after 4 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 13, 2010.  There will be a parish rosary at 5 p.m., a vigil prayer service at 7 p.m. all at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Hospers.
       Ramona was born on Aug. 4, 1936, at rural Granvillle, IA, the daughter of Joe & Emma (Penning) Sauer.  She was raised and educated in the Granvillle area & graduated from St. Joseph’s Catholic High School in 1954.  
       On April 11, 1955 she married Jerome Gloden at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Granville, IA.  The couple made their home in Sanborn, IA until moving to Hospers in 1962 where they were engaged in farming until Jerome passed away Aug. 18, 1997.  Ramona remained on the farm until her death.       
     Ramona was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church and church guild & Catholic Daughters of America.  Ramona enjoyed being a farm wife & taking care of her family.  She took great pride in her children and grandchildren.
       Survivors include: Six Children, son, Jerry Gloden & his wife Mary of LeMars, IA & their children Jerod & Jennifer.  Daughter Cindy Backer & her husband Doug of Sioux City, IA & their children Kyle, Megan & Billy & his fiancé Lauren Breazeale.  Daughter, Pam Falkena & her husband Mark of Hospers & their children Mandy, Kris & his wife Rosalie, & Tim.  Son Terry Gloden & his wife Brenda of Hospers & their children Jeremy, Melissa, Adam & Mikayla.  Son Larry Gloden & his wife Brenda of Hospers & their children Casey, Crystal & Hunter.  Son John Gloden & his wife Miranda of Omaha, NE & their children Christian, Cassie & Elijah; One great-grandchild, Camron son of Casey Gloden.  5) Brothers, Rich Sauer & his wife Rita of Primghar, IA, Joe Sauer & his wife Mary of Lemars, IA, Mark Sauer of Denver, CO, Jim Sauer & his wife Sue of Omaha, NE, Bob Sauer of Pierson, IA; 2) Sisters, Joan Leonard & her  husband Tom of Minneapolis, MN, Kay DeLozier & her husband Rich of St. Paul, MN;  1) Brother-in-law, Jerry Bly of Minnesota;  2) Sisters-in-law, Kitty Sauer & Peggy Blake both of Sheldon, IA.
        Preceded in death by, her parents, 2) Brothers, Donald & Jerry Sauer; One sister Carol Bly.
        Casket Bearers will be: Jerod, Jeremy, Adam & Casey Gloden, Kyle & Billy Backer, Kris & Tim Falkena.
        Honorary Bearers will be, Jennifer, Melissa, Crystal, Mikayla, Christian, Cassie, Elijah & Hunter Gloden, Megan Backer & Mandy Falkena.
