Raymond J. Loutsch, age 96 of Oyens, IA died Saturday, Aug. 28, 2021 at Bavarian Meadows Assisted Living in Remsen, IA.            

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 2, 2021 at St. Catherine Catholic Church in Oyens, IA with Father Timothy Pick officiating and Deacon Dan Goebel assisting.  Burial will follow at St. Catherine Cemetery in Oyens, IA.  Visitation with family present will be 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, there will be a parish rosary and a vigil prayer service at 5 p.m. all at Fisch Funeral Home & Monument in Remsen.  Visitation will resume from 9-10 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.   

Raymond was born Nov. 13, 1924 at rural Granville, IA the son of Emil & Rose (Hunt) Loutsch.  In March 1931 Raymond moved with his family to near Oyens, IA where he received his education at St. Catherine’s Catholic School in Oyens.  He was then a farm laborer in the Oyens area.   

On April 23, 1946 he married Joan Goebel at Granville, IA.  The couple farmed near Oyens until retiring on the farm in 1985.  Joan passed away Jan. 12, 2012.   

Raymond was a member of St. Catherine’s Catholic Church and St. Catherine’s Columbus Club. 

Survivors include his five children, Suzanne Brummer of Denison, IA, Joyce (Thomas) Pick of LeMars, IA, Connie (Randy) Ortmann of Remsen, IA, Marian (Jim) Wess of LeMars, IA, Charles (Kim) Loutsch of LeMars, IA; 18 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; one sister, Mary (Ben) Wells of Cherokee, IA; one sister-in-law, Wilma Loutsch of Dysart, IA. 

He was preceded by his parents, one granddaughter, Amy Lynn Loutsch, one grandson, Kevin Ortmann, one great-granddaughter, Gabrielle Pick, one son-in-law, Walter Brummer, five brothers, Orville Loutsch, Robert Loutsch, Ronald (Lorna) Loutsch, Jerome Loutsch, William (Rose) Loutsch, one sister, Dorothy (Robert) Kilker. 

Casket bearers will be Angie Conley, Erin Nielsen, Keith Ortmann, Kyle Ortmann, Marc Pick, Chris Pick.
