Rosalia “Rosie” (Ney) Koob 95 years old, of Granville, IA, died on Wednesday, Apr. 13, 2016, at Prairie Ridge Care Center in Orange City, IA
 
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m., Monday, Apr. 18, 2016, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Granville with Rev. Terry Roder officiating.  Burial will be in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Granville.  Visitation with family present will be any time after 4 p.m. on Sunday, Apr. 17, 2016.  There will be a parish rosary at 5 p.m. & a vigil prayer service at 7 p.m., all at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Granville.  Services have been entrusted to Fisch Funeral Home & Monument in Remsen.
 
Rosie was born on May 8, 1920, to John and Mary (Klein) Ney, in Granville, Iowa.  She grew up in Granville and graduated from St. Joseph’s Catholic Grade School and Alton Public High School.  She married Edwin “Ed” Koob of Granville on November 11, 1941.  They made their home in Granville.  Together they had four children, Larry, Lee, Gerald “Jerry”, and Mary Ann.  Ed died Sept. 20, 1982.  Rosie worked at Spalding Catholic High School as a cook in the school’s cafeteria.  Later she worked for Harker’s in Orange City, retiring in November 1995.  She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and its Ladies Guild.  She enjoyed gardening, sewing, traveling, spending time with family, and caring for others.
 
Mourning her loss are her sisters Frances Koob of Orange City and Colleen “Kitty” Penning of Granville, brother Jack (Doralice) Ney of Granville, sons Larry (Judy) of Omaha, Nebraska, Lee (Donna) of Williamsburg, Virginia, daughter Mary Ann (Dennis) Rogers of Shenandoah, Iowa, daughter-in-law Mary (Meis) Koob of Omaha, Nebraska, 12 grandchildren, and 17 great grandchildren.
 
Preceding Rosie in death were her parents, six brothers, three sisters, and her son Jerry.
 
Casket bearers will be Randy Koob, Todd Koob, Nathaniel Matya, Nick Matya, Gabe Farquhar, Travis Marking
