Rose Marie Klein, 50 of LeMars, IA died Saturday, April 24, 2010 at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, IA, from complications of injuries received in a fall.
        Funeral Service will be Thursday, April 29, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. from St. Mary's Catholic Church in Alton, IA with Rev. Paul Eisele & Rev Doug Klein officiating.  Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Alton, IA.  Visitation will be anytime after 4 p.m. Wednesday, April 28, 2010.  There will be a parish rosary at 5p.m. and a vigil prayer service at 7 p.m. all at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Alton.  Services have been entrusted to the Fisch Funeral Home & Monument of Remsen.  Condolences may be sent online to www.fischfh.com. 
            Rose was born, June 1, 1959, the daughter of Oscar & Marie (Freking) Klein.  She lived with her parents on a farm northeast of Ashton, IA until 1963 when the family moved to a farm southeast of Alton.  Rose attended St. Mary’s Elementary School at Alton, and graduated from Spalding Catholic High School in Granville, IA in 1977.  She then attended the College of St. Mary’s in Omaha, NE, graduating in 1981 with a degree in Elementary Education.  She taught math & science at St. Joseph’s School in Neola, IA from 1981 to 1994.  She taught math & science at Holy family School in Des Moines, IA from 1994 to 2006.  Since 2006 she has been the 8th grade science teacher at LeMars Community Middle School.  She also gave piano lessons.
            Rose was a pianist/organist for St. Patrick’s Church in Neola, IA and also at Visitation Catholic Church in Des Moines.  She also served on the Liturgy Committee at both of these parishes.
        Rose was a dedicated educator with an interest in and concerns for all her students.  She loved all types of science and nature.  She never missed family celebrations and gatherings.  She was an avid reader, knitted and crocheted many beautiful afghans and other articles.  She enjoyed playing the piano, loved to play board games with siblings and nieces and nephews.  She enjoyed camping with her cousins.
        Survivors include: Her parents, Oscar & Marie Klein of Alton, IA; Five Brothers, Mark & his wife Jolene Klein of Wakefield, NE, Mike Klein of Denver, NC, Steve Klein of Frisco, TX, Dan & his wife Wendy Klein of Sioux Falls, SD, Kevin Klein of New York City, NY; Nieces & Nephews; Eric & his wife Danielle & their son Carter, Aaron, Stephanie, Ryan, Ben, Joshua, Marcus & Rebecca Klein.
        Preceded by: One sister Patricia Ann Klein, Her maternal grandparents, Clem & Edna (Healy) Freking, Her paternal grandparents, William & Clara (Hoffmann) Klein.
        Casket Bearers will be, Eric, Aaron, Ryan, Joshua Klein, Joyce Vortherms & Jolene Schorg.
        Honorary Bearers will be, Stephanie, Marcus, Rebecca & Ben Klein.
