Roy Steffen, 81 of Remsen, IA died Saturday, October 23, 2010 at his home in Remsen, IA.
        Funeral Service will be Monday, Nov.1, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at Christ Lutheran Church LCMS in Remsen, with Rev. Dennis Martens officiating.  Burial will be in the Remsen Community Cemetery.  Visitation will be anytime after 1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 31, 2010.  There will be a prayer service at 4 p.m. all at Christ Lutheran Church LCMS in Remsen.  Services have been entrusted to the Fisch Funeral Home & Monument of Remsen.
        Roy was born April 11, 1929 at Remsen, IA, the son of Fred & Anna (Grage) Steffen.  He was raised and educated in the Remsen area.  He graduated from Union High School in 1946.  He then farmed with his father.
        On Jan. 14, 1954 he married Margaret (Bruckner) at Christ Lutheran Church in Remsen.  The couple farmed in the Remsen and Kingsley area until their retirement in 1998 at which time they moved into Remsen.  Marge died Oct. 27, 2010.
        Roy was a member of Christ Lutheran Church LCMS.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spent many weekends camping with his family and friends.  He loved cars and always knew what model & year they were.  He bowled for Felt’s Shelling Team for many years.
        Survivors include; One daughter, Deb Steffen of Remsen; Three sons, John & his daughter Jessica of Remsen, Gary & his sons, Zachary & Isaac of Lakeville, MN, Ryan & his children, Joshua & Amanda of Germantown, IA;  One sister-in-law, Carole Steffen of Sioux City, IA;  Three brothers-in-law, Larry Bruckner & his wife Diane, Don Bruckner & his wife Paula, Bob Buckner & his wife Cindy all of Omaha, NE. 
        Preceded by, his parents, a daughter in infancy; One brother, Orville Steffen; One brother-in-law, Les Bruckner; One nephew, Jesse Bruckner.
        Casket Bearers will be, Jim Steffen, Richard Steffen, Roger Steffen, Dave Homan, Scott Pratt & Steve Pratt.
