Ted Snyder

Ted Snyder, 73 of Remsen, IA died Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013 after a courageous battle with cancer surrounded by his family at his home near Remsen, IA.
          Funeral Service will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2013 at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Remsen, with Pastor Pete Petersen officiating.  Burial will be in the Remsen Community Cemetery.  Visitation will be anytime after 4 p.m., with family present from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2013.  There will be a prayer service at 7 p.m. all at Fisch Funeral Home & Monument in Remsen.  Visitation will resume Wednesday from 9a.m. until service time at the church.  There will also be a celebration of life service On Sat. Feb. 16, 2013 from 1 to 5 p.m. at the V.F.W. Hall allHHin Plattsmouth, NE.
          Ted was born Dec. 25, 1939 at Nebraska City, NE, the son of Roy & Edna (Chaney) Snyder.  Ted was raised and educated in Nehawka, NE.  He moved to Omaha, NE, then to La Platte and Plattsmouth area.  He was first employed by Armour Packing. 
          On April 1, 1963 he married Donna Skelton at Plattsmouth, NE.  The couple made their home in La Platte then moved to Plattsmouth where they lived for 38 years.  Ted worked at various packing houses.  He retired from National By Products in 2003.  In 2006 Ted and Donna moved to Remsen, IA where he enjoyed working in his garden, flower bed and riding his Harley.  He also enjoyed his family and friends.  Ted loved attending his grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s activities. 
          Ted was a member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church and Plattsmouth Boat Club. 
          Survivors include: his wife of almost 50 years, Donna of Remsen; his six children, Tom (Athena) Dooley of Bellevue, NE, Katie Kahler of Remsen, Ed (Lori) Dooley of Bellevue, NE, Butch (Edona) Snyder of Remsen, Scott (Kim) Snyder of Alton, IA, Doug Snyder of Plattsmouth, NE; 10 grandchildren, Shelly (James) Minette, Brook (Brian) McConnaughey, Kari (Kyle) Niehus, Melissa Dooley, Colby, Katlyn, Lindsey, Madison, Josie and Sydnie Snyder; great-grandchildren, Christian Tilson, Jaylen Brown, Breighton Dooley, Kenzie Niehus, Blake McConnaughey; two brothers, Ned Snyder of Nebraska City, NE, Roy Wayne Snyder of Weeping Water, NE.
          Preceeded by, his parents, one son, Ronald Dooley, one brother, Jed Snyder, father and mother-in-law, Ellis and Lucy Skelton.
          Casket Bearers will be, Chris and Craig Snyder, Kevin Rollins, Kevin Gramlow, Paul Jaminet and Jim Burnett.
          Honorary Bearers will be, Shelly Minette, Brook McConnaughey, Kari Niehus, Melissa Dooley, Colby, Katlyn, Lindsey, Madison, Josie and Sydnie Snyder.
