Thomas H. Klein, 65 years old, of Granville, IA, died unexpectedly Sunday, Sept. 27, 2009, at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, IA.
A celebration of Tom’s life will be held Thursday Oct. 1, 2009 from 4-6p.m. at The Dugout in Granville, IA. Fisch Funeral Home & Monument in Remsen is in charge of arrangements.
Tom was born May 31, 1944 at LeMars. The son of Gerald & Angeline (Ahlers) Klein. Tom was raised and educated in the Granville area. After school he helped his father on the farm.
On Aug. 17, 1968 he married Marsha Irish at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Granville. The couple made their home in Granville and Tom worked at Silent Sioux in Orange City, IA until their closing. He was a devoted caregiver to his wife during the time she was sick until she passed away on April 9, 1995. Tom loved going to flea markets and auctions. He also had a big garden and shared his produce with anyone. Tom enjoyed going downtown on Saturday nights and visiting with friends.
Survivors include; One daughter Carmen Dowdy & her husband Carl of Cherokee, IA; Grandchildren, Ashley, Amanda & Alyssa Dowdy; Great-grandson, Kaiden Curtis all of Cherokee, IA; One son, Bill Klein and his wife Donna & Step-grandson Brandon all of Orange City, IA; Two brothers, Loren & Leon Klein both of Granville, IA; Two sisters, Marcy Klein of Prairie Village, KS, Noreen Gard & her husband Curt of Colfax, IA; His mother-in-law, Charlotte Irish of Sioux City, IA; Two sister-in-laws, Mavis Klein of Richland, SD, Theresa Stenzel of Atlantic, IA; Two brother-in-laws, Mike & Pat Irish both of Sioux City, IA. Many Nieces, Nephews & Cousins.
He was Preceded by: His parents; One Brother, Ronald Klein; Father-in-law, Bill Irish, Brother-in-law; Dennis Irish.
