Wayne A. Lang

February 1, 1922 — November 14, 2015

Wayne Lang, 93 of Sioux City, IA passed away Saturday, Nov. 14, 2015 at Countryside Senior Living in Sioux City, IA.
           
Funeral Service will be Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Remsen with Pastor Pete Petersen officiating.  Burial will be in the Remsen Community Cemetery in Remsen, IA. Graveside military honors will be conducted by V.F.W. Post 3328 and American Legion Post 220 of Remsen.  Visitation will be one hour before the funeral Wednesday.  Services have been entrusted to the Fisch Funeral Home & Monument of Remsen.
           
Wayne was born Feb. 1, 1922, at LeMars, IA the son of Albert and Irene (Stockstill) Lang.  He was raised and educated in the Remsen area and attended country school to the 8th grade then attended Remsen Public School where he played basketball and also graduated in 1939.  He then attended business school in Sioux City where he worked a couple of years.  He then worked in D.C. until he was drafted into the U.S. Army in Nov. 1943.  He was attached to the 5th Armored Division until the end of WWII.

           
He graduated from the University of Denver in 1950.  He worked as as an accountant in several cities before settling in Sioux City where he was an accountant for the city for 20 years retiring in 1984.  In his retirement he would often come to the farm and help his brothers with the farm work.  He entered Countryside Senior Living on April 25, 2014.   

           
He was a member of the National American Legion.  

                                  
Survivors include; a sister, Marjorie Cote of Saratoga Springs, NY; a brother, Howard Lang of Remsen; numerous nieces and nephews including the Remsen Policeman Kevin Rollins.

Preceded by: his parents, two brothers Roger & Clyde, two sisters Grace (William) Stine and Rita (Lester) Rollins, one brother-in-law, Bernard Cote.

Casket Bearers will be Kevin Rollins, Butch Snyder, Shaun and Kyle Niehus, Wendell Riedemann.
