Angeline (Angie) Alvey, 75, from Mesa, Arizona, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Jan.14, 2018, at the Villa Hospice Unit, with family by her side.
She came into this world Aug. 24, 1942, the daughter of Alfred and Elizabeth Peda in Woodworth, North Dakota. She shared the birthdate of her father. She left home after high school, moved to New York and worked for Pan American Airlines.
She married Jerry Alvey in Canoga Park, California, in 1962. They moved to St. Paul, Minnesota, in 1964, then to Wyanet, Illinois, in 1969. She worked at Harper-Wyman and Prairie View Hospital in Princeton, Illinois, until starting an upholstery business in Wyanet in 1974.
They moved to Remsen in 1977 and opened Jerry and Angie's Cafe for 12 years. She went to work for Wells Blue Bunny in Le Mars and retired in 2006.
She enjoyed retirement by traveling, camping, fishing, crafting and sharing time with friends and family. They relocated to Apache Junction, Arizona, in 2008 and she enjoyed being involved as an activity director for their community. They resided in nearby Mesa until her passing.
Angie is survived by her husband, Jerry, of 55 years; sons: Scott (Cheryl) of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, David (Alicia) of Henderson, Nevada, Damon (Linda) of Vermillion, South Dakota; grandchildren: Christopher (Jen) of McKinleyville, California, Zackery of Plano, Texas, Amanda (Demetrius) Sneed of Plano, Texas, Ashley (Kevin) Donovan of Vermillion, South Dakota, Amber of Brookings, South Dakota; great-grandchildren: Noella, Charlie and Zola Sneed; and a sister: Deb (Marty) Ritzman of Casper, Wyoming.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
