Audrey M. Heidesch, 88 years old, of Remsen, IA died Saturday, Sept. 19, 2015 at Floyd Valley Hospital in LeMars, IA.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2015, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Remsen with Rev. William McCarthy officiating and Deacon Rick Roder assisting. Burial will be in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Remsen. Visitation will be anytime after 4 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 21, 2015. There will be a parish rosary at 5 p.m., and a vigil prayer service at 7 p.m. all at Fisch Funeral Home & Monument in Remsen.
Audrey was born to Louis and Marie (Levermann) Goebel April 2, 1927. She was raised
in Alton and graduated from St. Mary's Catholic high school in 1944. Audrey worked in her parent's grocery store in Alton, IA until she left for college, attending Briar Cliff. Audrey taught in a one room school house. After teaching she married Lorne Heidesch on June 18, 1947 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alton. The couple moved near Remsen where they farmed and raised their 10 children. During her retirement Audrey then enjoyed volunteering. Lorne died Aug. 20, 1998. Audrey spent her last few years enjoying life at Bavarian Meadows.
She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Remsen, the church guild and the Catholic Order of Foresters.
Survivors include, three sons and their wives, Wayne and Joyce Heidesch, Jim and Peg Heidesch all of Remsen IA, John and Judy Heidesch, Marcus, IA, four daughters and their husbands, Mary and Keith Arens, Remsen IA, Lynn and Joe Even, Omaha, NE, Betty and Curt Bisgard, Yankton SD, Kris and Jim Pottebaum, Alton, IA, 15 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild, several nieces and nephews.
Preceded by her parents, three daughters, Joyce, Lou Ann and Jean Heidesch, grandchildren, Ben Arens and Hunter Heidesch, great grand son, Keaton Reuter, brothers, Merlin (Ethel) Goebel, Marvin (Ruth) Goebel, sisters, Luella (AD) Barnum, Junille (William) Fokken.
Casket Bearers will be Gerad Heidesch, Mitchell Arens, Matthew Even, Sawyer Heidesch, Sam Bisgard, Brandon Pottebaum.
