Marcus, Iowa-Eleanor M. Beaton, Phoenix, Arizona, formerly of Marcus, Iowa, entered into Heaven on February 6, 2019 in Arizona. Eleanor will be brought home and laid to rest next to Charles on July 10, 2019, on what would be their 65th wedding anniversary. Services will be held at Grace United Methodist Church in Marcus on Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at 2:00 p.m., with family present at 1:00 p.m. to greet friends. Pastor Travis Stevick will officiate. Burial will be at the Marcus-Amherst Cemetery following the service. The family invites you to join them at the church after the burial for the sharing of memories and fellowship over coffee and a light snack.

Eleanor Mae Beaton was born on April 30, 1935, the daughter of Clair and Mildred McIntire.
Eleanor spent her childhood on the family farm in Marcus and graduated from Marcus High School in 1952. She was united in marriage to Charles Beaton on July 10, 1954. Eleanor and Charles made their home in Marcus where they raised their four children. In their golden years, they made their home in Phoenix, AZ.

Eleanor will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. Family was the most important thing to Eleanor.

Eleanor will be lovingly remembered by her children, Marcia of Glendale, AZ, Bonnie (Steve) of Spencer, IA., Lance (Dawn) of Peoria, AZ, and Sue of Des Moines, IA. Grandchildren Courtney, Stephanie, Kelly, Christina, Justin, Emily, Mariah and Cody, 17 great grandchildren, sisters-in-law Barb McIntire and Peg Worthington, and many nieces and nephews.

Eleanor was preceded in death by her husband Charles, son Steve, and 10 brothers and sisters.

The family requests that any memorials be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association in Eleanor’s name.
