Curtis Lee Kappler, age 84 of Remsen, IA passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2026 at Happy Siesta Health Care Center in Remsen, IA.

Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 13, 2026 at First Lutheran Church in Kingsley, IA with Pastor Jason Letsche officiating. Burial will follow at the Remsen Cemetery in Remsen, IA. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. on Thursday at Fisch Funeral Home & Monument in Remsen, IA. Visitation will resume Friday morning at 9:30 a.m. at the church. Curtis was born on May 27, 1941 on the farm near Remsen, IA the son of Louis & LaVon (Peters) Kappler. He was baptized and confirmed at First Lutheran Church in Kingsley, IA where he later taught Sunday School. He started school at Henry Township School for 2 years and then went to Union Consolidated School to finish.

Curtis lived and worked his entire life on the farm he was born on. In his early years Curtis was a policeman in Kingsley. Over the years Curtis drove truck for a local trucker, worked at ACE Roto Mold for 10 years, milked cows for 45 years, raised hogs and horses, he also helped other farmers until he was 79 years old.

He is survived by his 3 nephews, Gene (Marty), Roger (Thuy) and Neal Kappler; niece, Barb LeClair; caretakers, John & Rahkel Hansen, Andy & Sarah Hansen, Matt Hansen, Bill & Becky Fitchner, Luke Bogen.

Curtis was preceded by his grand parents; his parents; his brother, Wayne (Lynne) Kappler.

Casket bearers will be, Michael Grage, Jason Grage, Andy Hansen, Luke Bogen, Jordan Miller & Blake Miller.
