Dan was born on June 16, 1944 in Le Mars, IA the son of John & Cleo (Ludwig) Loutsch.  He was raised near Remsen and graduated from St. Mary's Catholic Schools in 1962.  He then enlisted in the Army National Guard along with three of his high school classmates. He was stationed at Fort Ord, CA for six months.

Upon returning home from his National Guard service, Dan worked in various jobs before finding his true passion in farming.

On Aug. 19, 1967 he married Patricia (Pat) Henrich at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Le Mars, IA.  The couple made their home on the family farm near Remsen.

Dan was strong in his faith and was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

Outside of farming and his faith, Dan embraced his hobbies and interests with enthusiasm. Golfing brought him joy on sunny days as he strove to perfect his swing and relished the camaraderie with fellow golfers. When he craved some friendly competition, Dan would head to the bowling alley where he showcased his skills with finesse and grace. He also found solace in fishing, patiently casting his line into serene waters.  Dan or "Danny" as some called him, loved to have a good time socializing with friends and family. He never met a stranger and will be remembered fondly by many for his smile, laugh and sense of humor.

He is survived by his wife, Pat of Remsen, IA.  The couple was blessed with three children who provided Dan with immense pride and joy throughout his life: Renada (Roman) Siciunas of Omaha, NE, Jill Loutsch of Remsen, IA, Matthew (Sara) Loutsch also of Remsen; grandchildren Isabella, Sophia (fiancé Daylin Johnson Stearns), Zach and Jada.  In addition to his immediate family, Daniel is survived by his sister Rosanne (Steve) Plathe of Remsen.

Dan was preceded in death by his parents John and Cleo. He was also preceded by his father and mother-in-law, Lee and Florence Henrich and brother and sister-in law David and Barb Henrich.

Casket bearers will be Chad Plathe, Zach Gazafy, Ron Galles, Mike Harpenau, Jason Loutsch and Eric Henrich.
