Daniel W.
Paulsen, 63 years old, of Granville, IA,
died Friday, Aug. 21, 2015 at his home in Granville.
            Funeral
service will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday, Aug. 28, 2015 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Granville
with Rev. Terry Roder officiating. 
Burial will be in St. Joseph’s
Cemetery.  Visitation will be anytime after
4 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 27, 2015.  There
will be a parish rosary at 5 p.m. by the Catholic Order of Foresters and a
vigil prayer service at 7 p.m. at the Church. 
Services have been entrusted to Fisch Funeral Home & Monument in
Remsen.
            Dan was born April 27, 1952 at Primghar, IA,
the son of Lawrence & Gladys (Gebert) Paulsen.  He was raised on a farm south of Granville
and graduated from Remsen
Union High
School in 1971. 
He married Lois Goergen on Sept. 23, 1972.  Throughout the years Dan worked at Terry’s
Repair, Ron’s Ford Garage, Darrell’s Conoco, Country Side Repair and he also
was involved in farming and had his own Corn Shelling Business.  He drove truck for many years.  He spent most of married life in the
Granville area. The couple built a new home in Granville in 2004 where he
retired.    
             Dan was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.  Dan was also an avid bird watcher.  He loved collecting John Deere Tractors,
spending time with his family and had a passion for classic cars and has been
rebuilding a 1978 Dodge pickup.
Survivors include his wife, Lois of
Granville; two sons, Brad (Karen) Paulsen of Merrill, IA, Dean (Angie) Paulsen
of Sheldon, IA; one daughter, Laura (Dale) Bosma of Ocheyedan, IA;  his mother Gladys Paulsen of Paullina, IA;
five grandchildren, Karissa, Michael, Daniel, Maxine and Jaxon; three brothers,
Duane (Lynne) Paulsen of Brandon, SD, Jim Paulsen of Spencer, IA, Lair Paulsen
of New York; three sisters-in-law, Sheryl (Denny) Feller of Rapid City, SD,
Karen (Rich) Glennie of Glencoe, MN, Lynn (Gordon) Pottebaum of Alton, IA; one
brother-in-law, Dale (Linda) Goergen of Cumberland, WI, numerous nieces and
nephews. 
Preceded in death by: his father,
Lawrence Paulsen, his father-in-law, Paul (Maxine) Goergen, his mother-in-law,
Ida Goergen.
