Diane Marie Reistoffer

Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2023 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Granville, IA, with Father Daniel Greving officiating and Deacon Dan Goebel assisting. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Granville.  Visitation with family present will be Tuesday from 4-7 p.m., there will be a rosary and vigil prayer service at 5 p.m. all at the church in Granville.  Visitation will resume 1 hour prior to the funeral on Wednesday at the church.  Services have been entrusted to Fisch Funeral Home & Monument in Remsen, IA.  The nline condolences may be sent at www.fischfh.com

Diane Reistoffer was born March 31, 1953, in Le Mars, Iowa to Vernon and Jo Ann (Schreier) Reistoffer. She was raised on a farm south of Granville. She graduated from Floyd Valley Community School in 1971 and then attended NCC. 

Diane lived in Granville and had various jobs over the years including Otis in Orange City, Alfs in Sheldon, Staples in Marcus then worked at Spalding Catholic School from 2004 until 2017 which was the job, she enjoyed the most.  She also took care of her mother Jo Ann for many years.

She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and church guild in Granville.  The Genealogical Society and Luxembourg Heritage Society both of Remsen. She loved her cats. She also loved traveling, flowers and pencil coloring. She went to many different countries including.  Ireland, England, Portugal, Germany, Luxembourg, Romania and Croatia. Luxembourg was her favorite trip as she traced back some of her ancestors.  

Survivors include one sister Noreen (Kevin) Petersen of Sheldon, IA; her aunt, Mary Reistoffer of Remsen, IA; cousins, Glenn Reistoffer of Paullina, IA, John Reistoffer &. Kathy Hernandez of Oxnard, CA and Rose Reimert of Remsen, IA; and Schreier & Kurth Cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon and JoAnn Reistoffer; grandparents, Leo & Cecelia (Gloden) Reistoffer, Joe & Leona (Gehrens) Schreier; uncles, Ray Reistoffer, Vernon (Neva) Schreier; aunt, Marlene (Schreier) & Jerry Kurth; cousin, Steve Reistoffer and many other relatives and friends.

Casket Bearers will be Glenn Reistoffer, Gerald Goebel, John Reistoffer, Garry Goebel, Donald Budden & Jim Schlichte.       

Honorary Bearers will be Cindy Klein, Connie Christensen, Judy Meis & Marci Kreber.
