Donna Bolton, 63, of Le Mars, Iowa, passed away Friday, October 31, 2025 at Happy Siesta in Remsen, Iowa, after a battle with West Nile.

Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 7, 2025 at St. Paul Lutheran Church ELCA in Remsen, IA. Burial will follow at the Kingsley Cemetery in Kingsley, IA. Visitation with family present will be Thursday from 5-7 p.m. at Fisch Funeral Home & Monument in Remsen, IA. Visitation will resume Friday 9:30 a.m. at the church. www.fischfh.com

Donna Hansen was born October 2, 1962 in Le Mars, Iowa, the daughter of Larry and Kay (Vondrak) Hansen. She was raised and educated in Remsen, Iowa, graduating from Remsen-Union High School in 1981.

On June 4, 1983, she married Steve Bolton. They made their home on an acreage near Oyens, Iowa. They had two children, Tim and Daniel. Over the years Donna work at Aalfs Mfg., In home daycare, Well’s Dairy, Diamond Vogel and finally being a Para at MMCRU in Marcus and most recently Clark Elementary in Le Mars.

Donna and Steve volunteered on the Oyens Fire Department, eventually their children joined also following their parents unselfish need to help others and volunteer. They became a dedicated family with a commitment to serve others.

Donna was so very proud of her boys and the responsible men they became. She was so happy when they married such special girls. Her grandchildren made her beam with joy! She so loved her role of being a grandma.

Donna enjoyed being a 4H Leader for many years. She enjoyed crafts, her dog Charlie, raising cattle on the farm, bingo and especially spending time with her family.

Donna is survived by her 2 sons, Tim (Rachel) Bolton of Oyens, IA and Daniel (Krista) Bolton of rural Kingsley, IA; three grandchildren, Briggs Cal and Harper Bolton; her brother-in-law, Kenny (Vicky) Bolton of Le Mars, IA; and nieces and nephews.

Donna was preceded in death by her husband Steve; her parents, Larry and Kay (Vondrak) Hansen; parents-in-law, Teddie and Valeria Bolton; brother Michael Hansen; sister-in-law, Brenda Bolton; and a brother-in-law, Dan Rodriguez.

Casket bearers will be family and friends.
