Everald Steffen, 85 years old, of Remsen, IA, died Saturday, Sept. 26, 2009, at Floyd Valley Hospital in LeMars, IA.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2009, at Christ Lutheran Church LCMS in Remsen with Pastor. Dennis Martens officiating. Burial will follow at the Remsen Community Cemetery. Friends may call anytime from 8:30a.m., until service time on Wednesday at Christ Lutheran Church LCMS in Remsen. Fisch Funeral Home & Monument in Remsen is in charge of arrangements.
Everald was born Nov. 25, 1923 at rural Remsen. The son of Elmer & Bertha (Grage) Steffen. Everald was raised and educated in the Remsen area. He graduated from Remsen Public School. After school Everald farmed with his father for many years.
On July 27, 1963 he married Lois Kelsheimer at Christ Lutheran Church in Remsen. The couple farmed near Remsen until 1996 when they retired and moved into Remsen.
Everald was a member of Christ Lutheran Church LCMS of Remsen.
Survivors include; His wife Lois of Remsen; One sister, Ellen Pratt and her husband Orlin of Remsen; One sister-in-law , Rosemary Liesner of Remsen; Several Nieces and nephews.
He was Preceded by: His parents; One brother, Vernon Steffen; One nephew Russell Steffen.
