Georgia Kass, 92, of Remsen, Iowa passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2020 at Happy Siesta Health Care Center in Remsen, Iowa.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 30, 2020 at Fisch Funeral Home & Monument in Remsen, IA with Father William McCarthy officiating. Masks are required and social distancing restrictions will be followed. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Remsen, IA. Visitation with the family present, keeping to social distancing restrictions will be 1 hour prior to the service on Monday.
Georgia was born Sept. 13, 1928, at rural Remsen, the daughter of Frank & Elizabeth (Nacke) Kass. She was raised and educated in the Remsen. She did domestic work in the Remsen area for many years. Georgia also worked at Dick’s Café in Remsen for several years. She then worked at Kohut Hat Factory in Orange City, IA. She then went into loan service in Le Mars, IA. Then moved to Omaha, NE where she worked at First Federal of Lincoln Savings & Loan. In 1980 she moved back to Remsen to care for her mother. During that time, she also worked at Sioux Valley Hospital in Cherokee, IA.
She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the church guild.
Survivors include her brother, Charles Kass of Sioux City, IA; numerous nieces & nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Joseph, Raymond, Gregor Kass and Leo Kass; three sisters, Delores Letsche, Imelda Roethler, Rita Schuetz, four sisters-in-law, Hilda Kass, Shirley Kass, Gwen Kass and Donna Kass, Kathleen Kass, Patricia Kass and Florine Kass; three brothers-in-law, Ray Roethler, Carl Letsche and Ralph Schuetz.
