Jeffrey Scott Rassel, 66 of Marcus, Iowa passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, January 31, 2026 at Cherokee Regional Medical Center in Cherokee, Iowa.
Funeral services will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, February 6, 2026 at Faith Lutheran Church in Marcus, Iowa. With Pastor Alan Cummins officiating. Burial will follow at the Marcus Amherst Cemetery. Visitation with family present will be 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at Fisch Funeral Home & Monument, Earnest-Johnson Chapel in Marcus. There will also be one hour of visitation at the church prior to the funeral. Services have been entrusted to Fisch Funeral Home & Monument of Marcus.
Jeffrey Scott Rassel was born August 14, 1959, to Floyd Burdette and Elaine (Juhl) Rassel in Le Mars, Iowa. He grew up in Marcus, Iowa and received his education from Grand Meadow and Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn Community Schools. Jeff then began trucking for his Grandpa Juhl and his father.
On December 11, 1982 he married Lori Bellefy in Bagley, Minnesota. The couple made their home in Marcus, Iowa where they would raise their family. Jeff continued trucking for various companies over his 50 years on the road. He retired in 2025.
Jeff was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Marcus. Jeff loved driving truck, spending countless hours working on the truck and enjoyed his cobalt blue side by side. He loved talking to everyone he ran into. He loved spending time with his family, especially his 6 grandkids. He could be found spending numerous hours watching TikTok and YouTube Videos.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Lori Bellefy Rassel of Marcus, IA; son Kiel (Lindsey) Rassel of Marcus and daughter Shania (Caleb) Buren of Marcus, IA; grandchildren; Mariah, Westin, Morgan, Harper, Bentlee, and Braylee; bonus son, Zach “Hammer” Means of Marcus, IA; his mother, Elaine Rassel of Marcus, IA; his siblings; Rodney (Sarah) Rassel, of Sioux City, IA, Jennifer (Scott) Allen of LeMars, IA, Cameron (Gina) Rassel of Marcus, IA, Zachary Rassel of Marcus, IA, and Jesse (Amber) Rassel of Alton; step-mother-in-law, Jane Bellefy of Bagley, MN; In-laws; Larry (Lisa) Bellefy, Jack (Nan) Bellefy of Bagley, MN; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his daughter; Ashley Rassel; father, Floyd Rassel; two brothers; Charlton Rassel, Justin Rassel and sister, Jean Rassel; In-Laws; Lawrence and Frances Bellefy; numerous other relatives.
Casket bearers will be Kiel Rassel, Caleb Buren, Westin Stubbe Rassel, Nate Rassel, Cam Rassel, Zach “Hammer” Means, Brian Tuttle, T-Jay O’Beirne Bellefy.
