Obituary

Jolene Treinen, 67, of Montezuma, IA and formerly of Remsen, IA, passed away Monday, November 27, 2017 at Milford, Iowa..

Mass of Christian Burial will be 1:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 1, 2017 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Remsen with Rev. William McCarthy officiating.  Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Remsen, IA. Visitation with family present will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday.  There will be a parish rosary at 5p.m. and vigil prayer service at 7 p.m. all at Fisch Funeral Home & Monument in Remsen. Visitation will resume 1 hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home.

Jolene was born May 5, 1950 in Le Mars, IA, the daughter of LeRoy and Bernice (Minten) Treinen. She was raised in Remsen where she graduated from Remsen St. Mary’s High School in 1968.  She then attended Iowa Lakes Community College in Estherville, IA and Mankato State University in Mankato, MN. She taught home economics at Cofax-Mingo High School until her retirement. After her retirement Jolene worked at the Clothes Closet in Montezuma.

Survivors include her numerous cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents.  

Casket bearers will be Greg Pick, Jon Mortenson, Jim George, Adam Behrens, Cody Felton and Brian Hanigan.
