Jolene Ann Schorg, 62 years old, of Remsen, Iowa, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, January 29, 2022, at Floyd Valley Healthcare in Le Mars, IA.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 4, 2022, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Remsen, IA, with Father Timothy Pick officiating, Father Doug Klein con celebrating and Deacon Dan Goebel assisting. Burial will follow at Remsen Community Cemetery in Remsen, IA. Visitation with family present will be 4-7pm on Thursday. There will be a parish rosary and vigil prayer service at 5 pm all at Fisch Funeral Home & Monument in Remsen. Visitation will resume 1 hour prior to the funeral on Friday at the funeral home. Jolene was born June 20, 1959 in Orange City, Iowa, the youngest to Linus and Mildred (Klein) Goebel.
Jolene was raised in Granville, Iowa and graduated from Spaulding High School in 1977.
Jolene married Gerald Lee Schorg on June 21, 1980. Together they had three children,.
Jolene worked for Wal-Mart in LeMars for 25 year and worked on the family farm. Jolene was the secretary/treasurer for Southwest Simmental Group for several years. She enjoyed scrapbooking, gardening, and going antique shopping.
Jolene is survived by her husband Gerald of Remsen, IA; children, Justin (Michelle) Schorg of Denison, Iowa. Sarah Schorg (Lance Leteff) of Jefferson, Louisiana and Ryan Schorg of Remsen, Iowa; One grandchild, Kelsey Ann; her siblings, Donna (Larry) Schumacher of Sioux City, Jerome (Shirley) Goebel of Mesa, Arizona, Francis (Janice) Goebel of Granville, Iowa and Henry (Mary) Goebel of Granville, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her parents Linus and Mildred Goebel; her in-laws, Lyle and Fern Schorg.
