Joshua Benhur Sidney

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2023 at Fisch Funeral Home & Monument in Remsen, IA, with Pastor Will Dole officiating.  Burial will follow at the St. Mary Cemetery in Remsen.  Visitation with family present will be 4-7 p.m., there will be a prayer service at 6 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Funeral will be live-streamed

Joshua was born on Dec. 3, 2005 to Jackie (Stoos) Sidney.  Joshua received his education from Ankeny High School and was set to graduate in May 2024.  Joshua had planned to attend the University of Iowa with a major in psychology.  

Known for his love of video games, Joshua loved playing his PlayStation 5 and playing D&D (Dungeons and Dragons).  Joshua was very creative and enjoyed editing and creating storylines in D&D format with his friends.  He also enjoyed sharing his writings and drawings with others.  He enjoyed spending time with his family, friends, and girlfriend, all of whom he loved fiercely.    

Joshua is survived by his loving mother, Jackie and brother, Josiah; his grandparents, Randy & Mary (Schiltz) Stoos, his Aunts and Uncles Jessica (Todd) Tentinger, Laurie (Justin) Tentinger all of Remsen, Kari (Cory) Puetz of LeMars; his cousins Tate, Cade, Hayden, & Kinley Tentinger, Kennedy, Xander, & Jett Tentinger, Mason, Max & Landri Puetz; his girlfriend of nearly 4 years Hailey Jensen; and numerous great aunts and uncles, and friends.

Joshua was preceded in death by great-grandparents, Henry & Margaret Stoos, Richard & June Schiltz, and numerous great aunts and uncles.  

Joshua will forever be remembered by all those that loved him for his strong, quiet, witty demeanor.

Casket bearers will be Carlos Olivo, Lewis Pochinski, Josiah “JoJo” Goodlett, Xander Tentinger, Cade Tentinger & Mason Puetz.

Honorary bearers will be his cousins, Tate Tentinger, Kennedy Tentinger, Hayden Tentinger, Kinley Tentinger, Max Puetz, Landri Puetz & Jett Tentinger.
