Joyce Loutsch, 93, of Remsen, IA, passed away Saturday, January 13, 2024, at Happy Siesta Health Care Center in Remsen, IA.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2024, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Remsen, Iowa with Rev. Matthew Schilmoeller officiating and Rev. Timothy Pick concelebrating.  Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Remsen, Iowa.  Visitation with family present will be 4-7p.m. on Tuesday, there will be a parish rosary and vigil prayer service at 5 p.m. all at Fisch Funeral Home & Monument in Remsen.  Visitation will resume from 9:30-10:15 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.  Services have been entrusted to the Fisch Funeral Home & Monument in Remsen.

Joyce Katherine Thill, the daughter of Al and Agnes Thill, was born October 30, 1930 in Le Mars, IA. She was raised in Remsen and graduated from St. Mary’s Catholic High School in 1949.

On February 9, 1954, she was united in marriage to Dale Loutsch at St. Mary’s Church in Remsen, IA. They moved onto the Loutsch family farm where Dale was born and raised.  It was there that they raised six children.

They moved to Remsen in 1989.  Dale passed away in 2018 and Joyce continued to live there until she made the decision to move to Bavarian Meadows in 2021. On November 30, 2023, she lived out her final days at Happy Siesta in Remsen.

She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Christian Mothers and Guild, Catholic Daughters, and belonged to the Everlasting Choir for many years.  She was a past Eucharistic Minister, made altar cloths and took care of the altars for the Church. In her spare time she enjoyed golfing, bowling, playing cards, going to casinos as well as daily coffee with the ladies. 

Left to cherish her memories are her six children, Alan (Linda) Loutsch, Tony (Kate) Loutsch all of Remsen, IA, Lori (Ray) Pick of Ankeny, IA, Cindy (Mark) Schilmoeller of Lincoln, NE, Lyle (Jacqlyn) Loutsch and Beth (Chad) Dreckman all of Le Mars, IA; 30 grandchildren, and 57 great-grandchildren; one sister, Ellen Ruhland; sisters-in-Law, LaVonne Loutsch, Collete Wright and Alice Seuntjens.

Preceded in death by her husband, Dale, of sixty-four years, granddaughter, Amber Schilmoeller, and great-grandson, Isaac Beying; her parents, Al and Agnes Thill, In-Laws, Dominic and Kate Loutsch;  sister and brother-in-Law, Darlene and Don Arens; brother-in-Law, Ron Ruhland; brother and sister In-Laws:  John and Cleo Loutsch, Gene and Mary Loutsch, Vernon and Marge Loutsch, Art and Dorothy Loutsch, Delores and Alvin Groepper, Norma and Les Sheehan / Emmert Tentinger, Kathleen and Ken Groepper, Paul Loutsch, Farrell Wright, and Mick Seuntjens.

Casket bearers will be Rick Loutsch, Joseph Loutsch, Nathan Pick, Eric Schilmoeller, David Loutsch, Logan Dreckman.
