Judy JoAnn (Riedemann) Gotto, 62 years old, of Remsen, IA, passed away Tuesday, May 29, 2012 surrounded by her family at her bedside following a short illness at her brother’s house in Remsen, IA.
        Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday, June 1, 2012, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Remsen with Rev. William McCarthy officiating & Deacon Rick Roder assisting.  Burial will be in the Remsen Community Cemetery.  Visitation will be anytime after 4 p.m. on Thursday, May 31, 2012.  There will be a parish rosary at 5 p.m. and a vigil prayer service at 7 p.m. all at Fisch Funeral Home & Monument in Remsen.
        Judy was born Aug. 26, 1949, at Cherokee, IA, the daughter of Vernon & Rosetta (Meyer) Riedemann.  She lived with her family on the farm south of Remsen and graduated from Remsen-Union High School.
        On July 7, 1984 she married Robert Gotto.  The couple lived in Remsen most of their married lives.  She was employed at various places and the latest was at Staples in Orange City.
        Judy was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church.  Judy devoted much of her time and talents in organizing the Girl Scouts in Remsen and started the Festival of Trees.  Judy loved her family very much and especially enjoyed spending her time with her grandchildren.
        Survivors include; her husband Robert (Bob) of Remsen; three sons, Jeff of LeMars and his significant other, Angie, along with her three children Haley, Addison & Tegan;  Chad & his fiancé Sara of Remsen and their children, Tyler, Alyssa, Brandon, Dylan, Kole & Peytyn;  Todd and his fiancé, Suzie of Des Moines and his daughter Kaylee; one daughter, Krystal Smit and her husband Jason and their daughters, Briana and Alexis; two brothers, Wendell Riedemann & his wife Caryn, Richard Riedemann & his wife Mary all of Remsen; one sister-in-law, Mary Dannen of LeMars, IA; many nieces, nephews and friends.
        Preceded by: her parents; one brother, Gordon; father & mother-in-law, John & Ella Gotto; two brothers-in-law, Jerry & Allen Gotto; step grandson-in-law, Clarence Schipper.
        Casket Bearers will be: Steven, Robert, Kevin & Donnie Riedemann, Jeff & Jason Weber.
