June Marie Stamer, age 93, of Marcus, IA, passed away, Friday, Sept. 12, 2025 at Heartland Care Center in Marcus, IA.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. at Peace Lutheran Church in Marcus with Pastor Kevin Roop officiating. Burial will follow at the Amherst Cemetery Marcus, IA. Visitation with the family present will be 9-10 a.m. on Wednesday at the church. Services have been entrusted to Fisch Funeral Home & Monument-Earnest Johnson Chapel in Marcus, Iowa. www.fischfh.comJune Marie Kroger was born on June 30, 1932 in Waterman Township, Iowa to Hans and Otillia (Laubach) Kroger. She grew up on a farm outside of Hartley, Iowa, where she graduated high school in 1951.

She married John Stamer on June 10, 1951 at Hartley, Iowa. After they were married the couple farmed near Sutherland and Primghar, Iowa and then moved to farm near Marcus in 1959. In 1975 they moved into Marcus. June Managed the Marcus Senior Center. She was also a CNA at Happy Siesta Health care center in Remsen, Heartland Care Center in Marcus and also did in home care for many elderly people over the years. John passed away December 7, 1995.

She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church Marcus. June had a love of collecting chickens and roosters, loved spending time reading and traveling.

Left to cherish her memory include her children Terry Stamer of Okoboji, IA, Londa (Troy) Stowater of Wayne, Nebraska, Brenda Simons of Marcus, IA, Crystal (Abel) Fuentes, Le Mars, IA; 17 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; sisters, Ruth (Lloyd) Newkirk of Hartley, IA and Karen (Kenneth) Zinn of Lake Park, IA; one brother, Kenneth (Glenda) Kroger of Hartley, IA.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband John; daughter, Sandie Sand; grandson, Clint Stowater; great-grandchildren, Liam and Noah Stowater; sister, Betty Lou; In-Laws John and Lavinia (Pauling) Stamer; brother-in-law, Lloyd Newkirk.
