Kathryn V. (Lammers) Ney, 98 of Granville, Iowa, died Sept. 17, 2011 at Orange City Area Health Systems in Orange City, IA.
      Funeral Service will be Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2011 at 10:30a.m. from St. Joseph Catholic Church in Granville, IA with Rev. Richard Ball officiating.  Burial will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery.  Visitation will be anytime after 4 p.m. Tuesday Sept. 20, 2011.  There will be a parish rosary at 5 p.m. & a vigil prayer service at 7 p.m. all at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Granville, IA.  Services have been entrusted to Fisch Funeral Home & Monument in Remsen.
      Kathryn was born Dec. 20, 1912 at rural Polo, SD, the daughter of John and Matilda (Thorman) Lammers. Kathryn was the eldest of ten children.  She was raised at rural Polo, SD and moved to Granville, IA with her family in 1928 where she attended St. Joseph School in Granville. 
      On January15, 1934 she married Theodore Ney at Granville. They made their home on the Peter Ney homestead farm north of Granville for 66 years until they moved to Orange City, IA, on Nov. 1, 2000. Kathryn was a volunteer at the Sheldon Care Center for more than 20 years.  Earlier she worked as an aide at the Orange City Hospital, did catering for social events as well as custom sewing.  Her interests were cooking, sewing, quilting and she enjoyed playing cards and golf.  Her days were always brightened with visits and phone calls from family, friends and neighbors.
      Kathryn was a faithful member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, church guild & Catholic Daughters Of America.
      Mrs. Ney was the devoted Mother of Three daughters, Doris Seyranian of Oakland, CA, Marilyn Leberman (Harvey) of Newtown, PA and Maxine Noteboom (Irwin) of Granville, IA; seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.  She is also survived by her sisters, Mary Holles of Sioux City, IA and Theresa Brock of Walnut Creek, CA, brother-in-law Jack Ney and his wife Doralice, sisters-in-law, Roselia Koob, Frances Koob and Colleen Penning all of Granville; many nieces and nephews.
      She was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore, on March 14, 2004; sisters Helen Lammers, Evelyn Eulberg, Margaret Pahre, Monica Fellers and Clare Farrell, and brothers Vincent and Harold Lammers, son-in-law Leon Seyranian and great-grandchild Nicholas Seyranian and several brothers and sisters-in-law.
      Casket Bearers will be; Steve and Mike Ney, Dennis Friedman, Dan Goergen, Wayne Holles, Joe Hunt.
