Kim Diane Bachmann, age 72 of Sioux City, IA passed away Sunday, August 2, 2026 at Mitchell House in Sioux City, IA.

Graveside service will be 3 p.m. on Friday, August 14, 2026 at St. Joseph Cemetery in Granville, IA with Rev. Daniel Greving officiating. Services have been entrusted to Fisch Funeral Home & Monument in Remsen, IA. Condolences may be sent online to www.fischfh.com.

Kim Stieghorst the daughter of Lewis Earl Stieghorst and Marion Diane (Doylen) Cox, was born in Evanston, Illinois, on April 8, 1954.As a young child Kim’s family moved to Lakewood, Colorado (suburban Denver). She graduated from Almeda High School with the class of 1972.She then attended college and earned her Bachelors Degree in Art Education.

On June 12, 1983, she married Dennis Bachmann in Denver where she was an art teacher. In 2009, the couple then moved to Montpelier, VA where she continued teaching. Dennis passed away in 2019.

Survivors include a special family friend, Dr. Lloyd Kemena; her in-laws, Mary (Alv) Wolf, Janet Loutsch, Tom (Brenda) Bachmann and Joyce (John) Fuxa; Kim is also survived by her cat Callie whom she treasured.

She was preceded in death by her husband Dennis; mother Marion, father,Lewis Stieghorst; her brother, Alex Stieghorst; step-dad Edwin Cox; brothers-in-law, Roger Bachmann, Don Loutsch and Christopher Bachmann; sister-in-law, Jeannie Theis.
